Great place to work if your goals are to be lied to about advancement, promised raises that never happen and then get terminated without cause after three+ years of loyal service. Better hope one of your coworkers doesn't hurt you on the job either, management will blame you and hold grudges. Upper level management is more concerned with personal projects than the well being of the company. Very poor communication between office staff and field staff leading to many mistakes and complications when completing jobs. Only upside is most of the field staff are good to work with. Office staff mostly pass around blame without ever solving any problems. Would highly advise against working here for your own well being and sanity.

2 days max if training , if you can call it that. Expect you to figure it out on your own, staff and management super passive aggressive. No communication unless your management. Place is boring, unless you're in with the cool kids no one will hardly acknowledge you exist. Some staff were nice but mostly arrogant people. Pay is low, half and hour lunch, not paid and they expect you to eat at your desk. God forbid you spread your 2 15 min breaks up. And leave your desk more than that. Won't say anything to you but dirty looks and judgment. Definitely hated waking up in the morning to go to this place. Perks free coffee and maybe once a month you'll get pizza. Maybe twice a year they'll supply you with some nice food to show appreciation. 

I’ve never worked for a shop with more internal drama than this one. People just sitting in “managements” office, talking poorly on others to make themselves look good to the boss. No one has your back here except yourself, I wouldn’t trust a soul unless you’re apart of the the “clique”. No one cares to see anyone do well, everyone is for themselves. The shop favourites get all the good work all the time and all the overtime. If you’re a new electrician at the shop, watch your back, they would honestly love to see you downfall. 

Only perk about this company is the paid travel time and company trucks. But the rest of the baggage doesn’t make it worth it.

They can’t pay there bills there accounts always on hold many complaints about there invoices lack of leadership aggressive behaviour with some management poor communication lack of responsibility vendors call every day wanting to be paid they can’t seem to bring enough money to pay not a place to work if they like and except you then you can behave in any manner overall the workload is ridiculous because of poor business sense culture lazy careless 0 accountability 

Good company to work for with emphasis on safety and quality of work. Company's clients require evening and weekend work from time to time, but not always. (No shortage of overtime if you want it). Proximity to highway makes shop/office easy to access, and company allows for 407 usage to leave/return to shop. Variety of work keeps the days interesting. Good guys on the crew who support each other. Will need to have clothing suitable to weather at all times as your daily scope of work may have to change without notice. Will have occasional on-call dates, but the schedule is balanced between the team.

Great place to work and learn. Small shop slowly expanding into different areas of electrical. From renovations and new construction projects, to day to day service calls, the commercial/industrial work is always improving. Company paid travel time and trucks is a huge bonus. RRSP match is solid. Great group of guys to work with and learn from.

CM Lighting is a great entry level company but, depending on what you want to achieve within the industry this might not be for you.Overall 3.5/5 experience. I had an amazing experience until the last 4-6 weeks I worked here. Certain people in management abuse their power and sometimes you may find yourself doing very odd jobs.

Management sucks, will only look out for themselves and their senior electricians. If you're new keep your head on a swivel. They are not open to new ideas/methods. They will have you break the law so that they "look good to their customers". Have to keep on them about your benefits and RRSP otherwise it will not be taken care of. Even if you follow their rules they will terminate without cause. 

This is a professional electrical company that does the work safely and properly.  Lots of different types of electrical work.  I have learned a lot since starting here.  If you like to learn and like to work, this is a good place.  We have a good young group of apprentices as well.

If you want your self esteem to drop, go here. Every single person on the management team is a horrible gossip. Worst office culture ever. From the moment you walk in, all you see and feel is negativity and anger. There is tons of wrongful blame, yelling, gossip and lies. Save yourself and move onto the next job.
