CML Healthcare

I started my experience with CML Healthcare and student placement through Westervelt College. I was given the opportunity to apply directly following my placement and was fortunate to obtain a position.  I have greatly enjoyed my experience here. 
I feel I have been very fortunate to have had the opportunity to learn from such wonderful people.
I have worked at a variety of locations in London and surrounding areas, as well as to provide home care the patients in their homes, nursing/retirement homes and a correctional facility.  Always being willing to do what it takes to achieve full time hours. My managers and co-workers at all locations have been very helpful in my transition into the medical field.
Although no matter what position or employer I have worked for I have always prided myself of being a good team player, and trying to always give back to my co-workers.
My day consists of greeting, data entering, specimen collecting, sample sort, and packaging and shipping samples for testing. 
Although I love every aspect of my position, my love is going home at the end of my shift knowing that I may be that one person that day that has chosen to take the time to listen when no one else has, and has brighten and made a difference in one persons day. That extra time I took to ease a child's fear which resulted in getting the sample that the last collection center couldn't get. That they have walked out with a little less fear then they walked in with.
I absolutely love working in patient services, and I go home everyday grateful to the opportunity of assisting my patients. My attention to detail, and striving to always ensure patient care and confidentiality is my top priority.

My typical day at work was always busy no matter what location I was assigned. I have learned to deal with different management styles as there were different managers for each location. I enjoyed working with most of my co-workers and I have formed some life long friendships with some.The hardest part of my job was some days not knowing where I was working on that day.
The most enjoyable part of my job was planning a lunch treat for the co-worker who was celebrating a birthday.

A typical day at CML involved organization of the previous day's patient files. This job was largely solitary; the filing room and "preparation" room were fairly small and easily manageable by one person. There I learned increasingly efficient methods of both organizing the patient files through a numbering system, and for filing and retrieval of the files when needed by the doctors.

The hardest part of the job was the long hours spent looking for work. Through a combination of the location being somewhat small and of the filing being fairly easy, a large amount of work could be done in a short amount of time, leaving long stretches of time with not much to do. The job was otherwise enjoyable.

My work day started at 7 and went till 3. I loved my job working with the public as well as with my staff. Every day was different and I loved the challenges I faced dealing with a variety of personalities in co-workers as well as patients and other clients.
I didn't really have a hard part with my job as I enjoyed all aspects of my work!
My most enjoyable part of my job was knowing I did my job well and the trust and compassion shared between myself and my patients. 
I often said "if I ever had to work a day in my life I'd quit"...LOL. I loved my job in every aspect!

A typical day at work consisted of receptionist duties, an exceptional amount of venipunctures and ECG's performed on numerous amounts of patients from all different backgrounds and areas of life. Needless to say, interacting with various individuals was always the most enjoyable part of working with CML. The hardest part of the job was the salary. Having to work and perform tedious tasks and not receiving comparable pay compared to the work involved.

A typical day at work includes greeting patients, booking appointments, faxing/scanning documents, fielding telephone calls, completing various weekly projects (depending), filing, using MS Office software, assisting with overflow work from office manager, OHIP billing and generally receiving, directing and supporting patients.

I was hired at CML as a Lab Technician/Phlebotomist and worked for 3 years until it merged with Life Labs. I had opportunity to work with highly professional and efficient staff and gained great work experience form them.

I was only at CML for a short time as it was for my clinical work experience for school however I found I easily fit in with the other employees. They were very welcoming and helpful with showing me tips and tricks you don't learn in the classroom.

Place orders for products, receive delivery of inventory and displayed products as needed.  Assist co-workers as required and provide training to new employees.  Assist manager with inventory control functions.

It is my 10 th. year at CML.
Wonderful company but pay less but it is ok, so far you have job.
Friendly co worker.
Most enjoyable part is coming to CML.
Hardest part is yet to come.
