Day starts around 05:45

Maintenance checks on all equipment and ramp walk for foreign objects that may hinder workplace safety for yourself, the operated machinery, and or including passengers to and from the offshore installations.

I learned patience and persistence, to be more independent, believe in own ability and to never assume; due diligence is key whilst you work for Cougar.

Management was very robust; as there are many levels of management within the company and further on in each department which you could seek guidance ex: Ramp Lead - Shift Supervisor - Department Manager - Human Resources.

My coworkers were a friendly bunch; as I treated everyone with the utmost respect, in turn I was treated in a likewise manner. Everyone was their own person; and seeing how we worked cooperatively as a team to achieve our goals was excellent.

At times the day moved along slowly; this brought about drowsiness and that can be a workplace hazard if you aren't moderately rested and alert.

The most enjoyable part of any job of course is the payday; however I enjoyed every experience I got in meeting new people and regular guests on a monthly basis.

I worked in PMO (people movement something or another). It is the funniest organization I've ever been in contact with! From management down, all are the "40 year old virgin" types, misfits of society if you will. I found it amusing for a short time but quickly grew tired of spending 12 hours a day with "adult children" with very low IQ and little education or common sense.
To be fair, the AMEs, pilots and other departments outside the PMO building seemed like normal people but PMO itself is a joke... Just ask anyone who works offshore.

A fast paced, high pressure environment due to the demands of the main industry served (offshore energy) but Cougar Helicopters sets the standard for others to follow in getting the job done safely, efficiently and with focus on service delivery.  A true group of professionals dedicated to being the best and the safest.

One of the best places I have ever had the pleasure to work . The people were amazing , everyone worked as a team and made sure job was done . The management team was outstanding and was always willing to help out anytime no matter the job. 

I worked at Cougar for roughly 2 years as Passenger Movement Control. I was responsible for security checking passengers and xray-ing baggage. Also loaded and offloaded helicopters.

Everything is written down. You just have to read (and do). 
Also don’t think you could find a better workplace culture, and with such awesome people!

I really enjoyed my time at Cougar Helicopters. I would still be employed with Cougar in Halifax if the oil and gas operations offshore were not decommissioned. Great management and co-workers.

Very professional offshore oil & gas passenger transportation services.  Advanced Search & Rescue operation.  Best helicopter simulator training program in class.

No Employee protection, management can and will lay off on basis of salary and not performance. Position made redundant after 11 years to save salary.

Very nice and friendly coworkers. Management very professional, listen employees what they want to say , open for suggestions. Will always go back to work there if I had a chance.
