What I believe I learned

I learned how important accuracy and attention to detail are when handling medications. I also improved my communication, customer service, teamwork, time management, and problem-solving skills while working in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Management

Management was supportive and focused on patient safety, teamwork, and following pharmacy policies. Supervisors and pharmacists provided guidance, answered questions, and ensured employees followed state and federal regulations.

Workplace culture

The workplace culture was professional, fast-paced, and team-oriented. Pharmacy technicians, pharmacists, and other staff worked together to provide excellent patient care while treating patients with respect and maintaining confidentiality.

The hardest part of the job

The hardest part of the job was managing a high workload during busy hours while maintaining accuracy. Handling insurance issues, long lines, and ensuring medications were prepared correctly under time pressure could also be challenging.

The most enjoyable part of the job

The most enjoyable part of the job was helping patients receive the medications they needed and knowing that my work contributed to their health and well-being. I also enjoyed learning about different medications and working closely with a supportive healthcare team.

They are an amazing company. I have been fortunate to interview with healthcare giants all over. But, to get the opportunity to work for them and go thru their interview process has been amazing. I am excited!!! We know who they are in the industry and their interview process has been nothing short of exceptional. The initial screening and interview was awesome. I immediately received and email asking for feedback on every step of the process. Everyone was knowledgeable and professional. During my interviews, I felt like I was simply having a professional conversation with a friend. They love their jobs and the company they work for and it shows. The tenure of their employees and what they stand for aligns with who I am personally and professionally. I love their heart for service and their thoughtfulness in their training programs. I have worked for industry giants and not many companies invest in preparation, equipping, and providing the resources an employee needs to be successful. They do and their entire process is reflective. I love their solution mindset and continuation of sustaining their excellency in the industry. Again, I am so excited and impressed with the company! I cannot wait to learn, grow, evolve, and become an asset to this organization.

A typical day at work includes filling prescriptions, assisting customers at drop-off and pick-up, processing insurance claims, and keeping the pharmacy organized. I’ve learned how to work efficiently under pressure, how different medications interact, and how to communicate clearly with patients. Management is generally helpful, though it can feel a bit stretched during peak hours. For example, during flu season, our pharmacy manager stepped in to help at the register to keep the line moving—small things like that go a long way. The culture is fast-paced but team-oriented; we all jump in to help each other, especially when it gets busy. The hardest part of the job is handling multiple tasks at once—like answering phones, helping customers, and verifying prescriptions—all while staying accurate. But the most enjoyable part is knowing I’m helping people. I once helped a patient who couldn’t afford her meds use a discount card, and she cried from relief. Moments like that make the job meaningful.

This is the first time I work for CVS. Hence I don’t have much experience. However, I hope CVS culture will have at least a basic work environment that makes employees feel safe, comfortable and encourages employees to contribute the energy for work without any hesitation. During my interview, I definitely believe that I will have a chance to work with the most passionate and thoughtful people and will receive the benefit from CVS for employees to help me work with my best knowledge. As a new pharmacist, I know that I need to learn a lot from company rules, regulation to provide the best effective service and the most safety to the public. I also hope the CVS system will provide the supporting tool for corporate purposes, eliminating human mistakes during task performance. I hope the time and task requirements per hour are reasonable for one person to perform. Even though I can say I am an employee that is willing to learn, and I do not hesitate to adjust myself to fit my position, a reasonable task reduces work pressure for me and other employees. Right after I received a CVS job offer, I already decided to stay with CVS with no other consideration. I can say: My dream has come true. Thank you to my manager, who gave me a chance to join the CVS team.

Much of the time there’s often a mix of routine responsibilities and unexpected challenges, which keeps things interesting. I’ve learned to be more adaptable and efficient under pressure. I've also gained valuable skills in communication, problem-solving, and time management. Working with a diverse team has helped me understand different perspectives and improved my collaboration abilities. Management has generally been supportive and approachable. They are clear about expectations and open to feedback. However, like any workplace, there are areas where communication or decision-making could be improved to better align with team needs. Teamwork is encouraged, and people are usually willing to help each other out. The most challenging aspect is managing tight deadlines while juggling multiple priorities. It can sometimes be difficult to maintain quality and accuracy under pressure, especially when expectations shift suddenly or when resources are limited. The most rewarding part is seeing the direct impact of my work, That sense of accomplishment, paired with the opportunity to grow professionally, makes it worthwhile.

Working with a team of colleagues, that are all at work with the same goal in mind, to serve the community where we all live with the products they need most to make their quality of life better and more enjoyable. Management plays a positive role when working with the team to keep them all motivated and organized to make the work environment, and life easy to balance. The hardest part of the job will be keep up with the work load at a steady pace to ensure that all tasks be done properly and with in an appropriate timely, manner. But he most enjoyable part of the day will be the team of colleague, I work with, and the lasting friendships that are built thru them, to make a better more positive, work day since that is where most of your day is spend through out the years.
