Café Crepe

Cafe Crepe was my first job since i moved to Vancouver. It was my family and friends. 
A typical day at work would be opening the kitchen.(check food quantities and quality.) Prepare the team for rush  hours.
Management always tried to put the team together as if each one of us were important to the work flow.
Hardest thing was the high turnover rate as we hired many international students and their visas would eventually expire.
On the other hand this diversity in culture helped my growth as i learned how to deal with different ways of thinking.
Overall it was a great experience.

I typically start my days at 2 or 4. If I'm starting my day at 4 and the flow of guests permits I generally send the 2 o'clock server home between 7-8 and spend the rest of the night serving on my own while performing closing duties such as wiping menus, rolling cutlery, and other cleaning tasks. During my time at cafe crepe I've learned better up-selling techniques and time management. My coworkers and lower management are wonderful people, I have made some great friends while working in this establishment.

lots of upside but unable to access. Very good concept, terrific food and drink quality. Service is steadliy improving.
having trouble keeping thier vision on moving forward. Need to find a better way of treating their staff and retaining them. Creating a better culture and positive enviroment. empowering on every level for success.

Decent hours of work, not your typical restaurant day and night.

It was a relaxing place but when it was busy it was quite hectic, when it was slow. It was boring and just really slow, some people you can tell abuse their authority because your new or a lower position.

Helped me gain great experience within the customer service industry that will allow me to transfer my skills outside of the hospitality industry. It is a face paced environment to work in, which helped me adapt to situations that would arise. 

Friendly environment and good working hours.
the management is impersonal and did not understand the reality of the stores.
To cut costs, management decreases the number of staff per shift by overloading those who work.

Management tends to be approachable and supportive, fostering a team-oriented environment. They often encourage staff input and provide opportunities for professional development, which can boost morale.

Did not get to work on the floor, mainly swept and kept place tidy. There was no place to improve my skills or climb the promotion ladder.

This is a great place to gain experience in the industry. all the processes are simple and easy to understand. People are nice and they help you with anything you need.

Poor management, bigger turn around. Expect to get mircomanaged Good for students who just want in and out and are looking for a summer job that is temporary.
