Depending on where you are placed you can do anything from very physical labour your entire shift or doing nothing your entire shift. There is not really a sense of direction at all, it is very very relaxed.  Plus you are guaranteed to see some cool stuff!
However, the pay is low and for a part time job you cannot book time off unless you have accumulated enough hours in your bank. Difficult for a student or someone caring for family members when it may take you longer to accumulate said hours in the first place if you work part time. Management is non existent. The supervisors try their hardest and are extremely over worked. However you will never see someone from upper management, including the store manager, assisting on the floor or covering a shift to help. For a store run by Community Services, the veteran workers and management seems to be extremely judgmental towards teenagers and anyone who "looks like they may steal". Some employees will avoid tasks for hours to simply watch a customer, and store management supports this. The schedule is odd as well, one employee consistently gets every Saturday off while the others have to work every Saturday, rotating them as not an option

Disappointing environment with extremely low pay. Major divide between management and all other staff. You are paid way below industry standard and I would not recommend it to anyone who has any previous experience. You will not move up within the company as there is no room for advancement. Upper Management are paid and treated very well which is why there is little turn over with them. Job descriptions are not accurate and when they want to add more responsibility to your role, you will not be compensated for it.

2 days working from home is nice. Some of the members of the team are helpful

Office drama. Stay clear from it otherwise when its about you it will consume you

Most people are nice and helpful.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
The job description is too much to be listed here and the money is highly under paid

Typical day is 9 to 4. I have learned about the work culture in Canada here. It's very multicultural. Coworkers are very friendly and often willing to give a helping hand. Jobs and career department is always willing to give tips on resume building, job search and how to communicate in a globalized workplace.

Friendly family atmosphere, very different to anywhere else I've worked. Lots of opportunities to learn new skills and make the role your own, People that work here are genuinely helpful and friendly Management are really supportive.Best company I ever work.superviser and other staff are awesome and they are best people.

I loved this job very much. The customer interaction was enjoyable and I liked having the one on one experience when dealing with the customers. I was taught everyday employability skills while doing workshops and other activities.

I  think is  a great place to work,  l am looking for were l can comuitub and my knowledge.  Love to intact with people and work as a team for this  grow of the  company. The  well  be of my clients is very important to me. I  love this job . I have fun and exciting  want l am doing it.


Days are long but hours are 9-430, no paid lunches. Hardest part of the job is the divide between the new and the old staff. The most enjoyable part of the day is working and helping clients. 

Great if you’re just starting out. Pay is much lower than industry standard. It is a very friendly environment. Benefits are fully paid. 6 month probation period. Directors and “up” is good pay but if you are anything under that good luck to surviving off the salary they offer.

Client care has been suffering with agency for a number of years now. No full time hours when you are a full time staff. Are suggested to use your vacation hours to make up the difference.
