Every Canac is different. Mine, we had a great team of people. We had fun, worked as a team and helped each other learn. But if you were looking for stability and advancements, positive reinforcement, “thank you”s and “good job”s, or to feel appreciated for the work you do, you’re in the wrong place. When hours start to go down, they’ll keep hiring new people so that they don’t have to pay the older employees as much to work by paying the new people to work small shifts. When people don’t show up or call sick, they don’t replace them, leaving you sometimes severely understaffed. You are also expected to do literally everything all at once, with little to no help—- nor a show of understanding from management when they see how much work you also have to do on top of that. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed my 3 years there and I learned a lot. But my most important lesson learned is to respect my boundaries and not let people walk over me nor pressure me into doing things I know I can’t do.

My job was to direct clients and serve them, it was very physical and that's why I would have wished for a little more salary. On the other hand, we worked very well even during busy hours because we had a good tempo etc. I would recommend Canac for those who want an active working environment with which you interact with clients.

Canac is a dynamic work place. With time, the pay is great. Days are busy, the store can see 1000+ clients on a weekend.

The director is a sweet, open minded guy. You give, he will give back.

Canac offers possibility for carreer advancement.

The only con I see is rotation of staff, and sometimes we felt as if the higher ups pressured the store directors.

Canac is a great place to work, the managers are open to restructuring their schedule for students. This way, students are assured to have the time they need to study when exams are coming up.

The training is almost inexistent, the communication is deficient, the bosses do not know how to talk to employees properly.
There no social benefits and they hire only part-time to avoid providing boots, pants  and vacations.
Positive point the team is great.

Materials and hardware knowledge before hand to help identify client needs! A1

If you like to work hard all the time, walk a lot, need too know where specific items are by heart and always work extra hours during the summer, it's the best job for you! (This is, working outside/in the warehouse).

Fun for students that go to school full-time and want a relaxed environment. Most employees are 15-25 so you will have fun and you will find some nice people to talk to during your shift.
