Worked for the company for one year. There was no training, there was no job guidelines set in place. Little to no communication between teams. Deadlines or projects from clients would be given on short notice. Supervisors and managers were supportive and did initiate a "Safe" workspace. However, several hardworking, successful employees who were never given negative feedback, written or verbal warnings were terminated without cause. There is no HR team, or HR employee. If there is a workplace issue there is no one to report it to. I had concerns about a team member taking my work and was unable to report it to anyone. The workload is absolutely unrealistic. I often showed up and hour early and left work two to three hours late. I never once took a lunch break during the entire year, and I usually worked every weekend in order to complete all projects for the short deadlines. Each team is understaffed, underpaid, and overworked. Currently no one is succeeding in their roles, and most staff are unhappy with feeling undervalued and under appreciated. There is no directions from management, the fail to provide proper briefs. Projects are given short and unrealistic timelines. The lack of direction, and communication results in projects having to be revised an unreasonable amount. Freelancers aren't given any direction or briefs, and often the team doesn't receive the results that are needed because of this.

Canada Pooch is an incredibly fun and rewarding company to work for. The leadership team is passionate about making the best products in the market, and providing the best work environment for their employees. It is a very collaborative and fast-paced work environment where all team members are encouraged to bring their ideas to the table. The company goals and direction are clear and managers set realistic and structured pathways to success for their teams.

The owners aren’t on the same page.  Some of them are arrogant and make you feel small when you suggest ideas. They give direction on projects but then keep changing the direction constantly, causing you to be frustrated. People will give you a task, then half way they end up hiring it out to some else or doing it themselves with no explanation as to why you weren’t allowed to complete it. They are cheap, and won’t invest in proper supplies and care about cost over quality.

Working for this company has confirmed that you truly can have fun while at work! I continue to feel supported by my colleges and management. The workplace culture is so friendly and constantly up lifting. It feels so good being recognized for your hard work. Especially when there are prizes thrown in like Starbucks gift cards- it really shows they care!

Company was looking to hire a contract photographer and the CEO left the decision up to the rest of staff members (who are not hired to source photographers) and then proceeded to undercut me severely after her staff had already hired me and I completed the job.  Will never work for this company again. Extremely unprofessional.

The company is very strategic and focused on improvement. The leadership team encourages hard work and appreciates and implements recommendations from all team members. Relatively flat hierarchy and easy to approach leadership team. Some improvements could be made with team communication and holding regular catch ups with all team members.

The leadership at Canada Pooch is very smart, driven and inspiring. There is a clear vision and direction for the company. The team is collaborative and passionate about their work. Overall, it is a positive, fast-paced work environment. It is motivating to be a part of a growing business with an opportunity to make an impact.

Given no proper training, yet expected to go above and beyond. Meetings were spent talking bad about customers instead of actually talking about tasks at hand.
