It's a unionized association with an "us v. them" mentality. If you happen to disagree with the unions involvement, you will experience bullying from fellow colleagues, even theft of personal items. It was not a welcoming place to work. I experienced inappropriate remarks about my attire and condescending remarks on a nearly daily basis.  The CBA has the potential to be a great association but needs a staff overhaul, especially with the senior employees. 

Cons: costly union fees, poor management decisions by past and present management, favouratism, bullying among employees, thefts, very clique-ish, promotions based on seniority not competence or skill. Very slow-paced, there seems to be an entitlement culture among senior employees. Gossiping, small office with small work spaces, open concept environment,  Not a welcoming place, lots of incompetence and lack of communication between departments.

Management has little to no leadership skills;
Staff are micromanaged, not trusted;
HR is understaffed and not reliable;
Mistakes get paid on your pay;
Unionized environment due to lack of communication between staff and management;
Departments are always blaming one another for problems;
Work was outsourced during pandemic, rather than offered to laid off employees;
Volunteer board who either doesn't care about the staff conditions, or is ill-informed

Great people and very professional  organization with a work life balance

I did not experience stress working for the company in my role

Professional work environment. Fun culture

Reached out to the legal community to tell them about membership options and benefits

Bullying, incompetence and laziness is the office culture here  management tolerates this kind of behaviour even when several complaints about the same person have been filed  the employees here are uneducated, lazy and entitled  they do the bare minimum yet are asking for money  if you’re a lawyer working at the CBA, you’re probably a failed lawyer  because that’s who the CBA employs : idiots

Pros: good team members, Nice colleagues, Flexible hours, Reputable organization.

Cons: HR department needs to go for sensitivity training...they do not care about employees well-being and  are very unreasonable. HR only cares about management not employees.



Overall, the employees were great to work with.  Work environment was generally pleasant.  Biggest issue is the direction of Management - there is none.

The team culture was phenomenal here, however there was a lack of support and communication from Management. They tended to not give feedback or provide 1 to 1 meetings on a regular basis and you didn't know where you stood. 

This job was a 2 months contract. I enjoyed working with this company because I learned quite a lot about administration functions. The employees are just wonderful and understanding.

Overall good company to work for. Staff collaborates well within the department, not so well across the organisation. Not the best workplace but better than many others.
