This was one of the least professional workplaces I have experienced. The company operates more like a family business, where opportunities and favorable treatment often seem to go to employees who have personal connections rather than those who perform well.

Management appeared to value employees who were always available to accept shifts immediately, regardless of travel distance, personal circumstances, or adequate rest. Employee concerns were often dismissed, and it felt difficult to have issues escalated to HR or higher management. When employees attempted to raise concerns beyond dispatch, there was often resistance rather than support.

Communication was also unprofessional at times, with dispatch frequently contacting employees through WhatsApp for work-related matters. Accountability was inconsistent, and it often felt like employees without personal connections were blamed for issues even when they were not responsible.

The company seemed more focused on satisfying clients than supporting employees, even when employees were in the right. There was little sense of fairness, professionalism, or respect in how staff were treated.

Overall, poor management, lack of professionalism, and low employee morale made this a difficult place to work. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this company to others seeking a supportive and professional work environment.

The most enjoyable part is meeting a tone of new people. The hardest part of the job is that you have to deal with unhappy clients. My co-workers knew when it was the time to have fun while on the job but they also knew when it was time to be stern. My supervisor at the time was very responsive to any questions I may have had. I have learned that there are a lot of way to hide different things to smuggle into an event. A typical work day for an event would be manning an entrance to the event area and looking for alcohol and or drugs while standing for a long period of time as well as dealing with negative people on the spot. You always have to be on your toes. All in all a fun day

Never work with Cancom Security when they make mistakes they blame the Security Guards, Admiistration is very poor three Security guard reporting at one site, security guard have to call to conferm which Security Guard is really working at this site, Managers and Security Sepervisors cannot communicate with Security Guards, Security Manager cannot speak French or English, their dailyreports are not readable/ grammatically in correct. i will never recommend any obne to work for Cancom Security they cannot provide good services to any one...

Worked with this company for over a year, hardest part of the job is collecting your pay cheque. The most enjoyable part is actually receiving your pay cheque. Management is usually not there during the hours that they say they're there but a smelly golden retriever they keep in the office is usually there. They pick and choose who they want to give mobile shifts to, even if you might have more experience than that other individual. Very unfair company, I could go on for days.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Ego tistical manager , who favors certain employees. Training is very uninformed on many fronts. Promise,s that become bottom less. I would strongly recommend not to work for this company

Wondering if they will have you let go like the last employee . Poor management

Worked at Cancom Security for 4+ years and over the years the company became more professional and grew in size, mobile supervisors are always on call and helpful and so is dispatch. Management is helpful and has very flexible hours and you are able to pick whether or not you want to work at specific sites, however you aren’t guaranteed whichever site you want to work at. Some sites can be very tedious and tiring, and you may have to do 12 hours shifts.

Have you ever wanted to work in a place where you have no idea what the next day has in store for you? Have you ever wanted to be given more and more work, and promises of pay increases but never actually receive one? Have you ever wanted to work in a place where the owner and all management are completely disrespectful and unprofessional? If you answered yes to any of this, this is the workplace for you.

They want everything from you for nothing in return. Never pays overtime, no matter how much you work. If you ask for your overtime pay, your threatened with your job or hours are reduced or sent to a worse location. If you're not in with the management team, you won't get anywhere. If your opinion doesn't match up with their's, you get pushed out. The company is corrupt. 

Cancom management, needs to provide a more friendlier, and professional work environment, for all employees.
Scheduling needs to communicate with employees of schedule changes.
Pay increases according to employees performance.



I was happy to get this job in seconds over the phone. "can you work tonight?" I go to school so this was a part time job. I liked that I was told I could work over 100 hours during my summer break bi weekly. But I never got OT. When I went in the office to ask why - I was yelled at by the ceo's brother. 
The work culture is toxic. Disgusting things are talked about. not professional at all.
