Here are facts, if you are wanting to work Full time  job with this company.
-Not WFH.
-Your vacation is only 2 weeks for the first 5 years, you are not allowed to take vacation in your first 6 months.  The time has to be accrued.
-There is no paid overtime or lieu hours, overtime is expected.
-Pay in the central corporate is bi monthly, pay for facilities is bi weekly.
-Benefits are not that good.  They fail to mention when being hired, it is all out of pocket, as anyone who worked there before 2021 is on a different benefits program. No one will explain in detail with you how they work, and ignore your requests.  The benefits are deducted from your pay and can vary based on the package between $60-$400 per paycheck.
-Corporate in both the East and West do not know or practice their own policies, as communication between, benefits, HR, and payroll, and management are completely lacking when executing new policies and procedures.
-All expenses, including seminars, and mandatory courses are out of your own pocket, and take a long time to be reimbursed.  No company credit cards are provided. 
-There is very little wiggle room for growth or raises, unless  it is a mandatory annual raise.  Most raises given are favourtism based.
-There is very poor direction or proper training provided.  There is a lot of blame shifting.  There are a lot of meetings about changing culture and procedures, yet very little comes into fruition.  

A lot of good workers in every department! Had nothing but a good time working here and a great experience for my career! , 
Management needed  little work
Typical day would be average of 8-16 floods a night sometimes more and less,  each taking  9-11 minutes  , normally having floods back to back with each operator looking after the two rinks . After the back to back flood gives you roughly 40-30 mins depending if any delay could be 20-30 mins giving you time to dump the machine and fill the machine , and pic up on odd ends such as sweeping halls / using floor machine / cleaning benches ! And ice maintenance at the end of the night ! ! One thing that I would recommend is them having an over night guy for strictly for ice maintenance ! To edge and chip and to keep the ice in good shape! With the overload of tournaments ,hockey schools , anf beer leauge the ice really takes a beating and with a steady over night guy would help build ice so it’s ready the next day 

A typical day of work is getting yelled at by grown men about problems that you have control over unless you’re a corporate employee. I learned that the company does not care about you, your welfare, or your mental or physical health. Workplace culture among lower employees is great. I had lots of great friends who were all in the trenches with me. The management will be the death of this company. Inappropriate behaviour, unfair treatment, and general lack of knowledge or common sense make the workplace a very unsafe and stressful place. The most enjoyable parts of the job were the grassroot hockey things like good games and players being happy to win. I cared about the players, as all of us on the bottom did. But there’s nothing we can do to save the sinking ship that management created. 

Working as a line cook at Canlan Ice sports consisted of many great opportunities and learning experiences. A typical work day consisted of operating and opening/closing the kitchen, changing of oil and filters, maintenance, and vigorous amounts of cleaning to ensure guest experiences are up to par. The culture was very dynamic and everybody was on a first name basis, Canlan does an excellent job of creating a community and family oriented environment. Personally, the most enjoyable aspect of the job for me was building relationships with co-workers and using teamwork in order to complete tasks quickly and efficiently. Furthermore, being an athlete myself, I really enjoyed the hockey atmosphere and the crowd of people our establishment drew in.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Working with the kids and parents. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
No training, no clear job parameters, doing work of multiple positions, poor salary, lack of any solid leadership.  

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Most people are good people and work hard, but senior managers and head office are inept, too young, and under-qualified for their positions. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Great when with clients, otherwise too stressful from unclear work parameters.

CanLan is an excellent company.  All departments work together to provide exceptional service for all aspects of the facility from rink level, office to restaurant.  Everyone has a great working relationship to make a wonderful work environment like family.  The members who we see weekly also make a daily work day a pleasure.  The work and life balance is always considered to make employees feel good and enjoy working for such a great company.  
Also, great to always keep up to date on all Heath and safety courses, CPR, and other job related courses to make for better trained staffed.

Working as a scorekeeper for Canlan Ice Sports was a positive experience for me. I typically worked for at least 5 hours or 5 games per shift. The work included providing pucks for warm ups, keeping score and keeping time for the game going on. The management was very organized, i only ever encountered 1 error in scheduling. The culture of the workplace is identical to that of a hockey crowd. The hardest part of the job was enduring the cold temperature, and the best part was getting paid to watch a sport I loved.

On a typical day at Canlan we would have 3 ice sessions and two field sessions to work with children aged 7-13. During ice sessions we focused on skills necessary for them to advance in hockey, while in the field sessions we worked on our physical conditioning while having fun (played a lot of soccer).

My greatest lesson from Canlan was to be patient with kids as they learn a new sport. Many times the kids would need to be shown a drill 2-3 times before they would be able to get it right.

I loved working for Canlan, I worked as a customer service rep full time until I had my kids.

I was responsible for all the phone calls coming into the facility with over 50 extensions. I also assisted the sales team in ice sales and ice allocation sheets. 

I had very supportive and approachable management that I worked closely with on a daily basis.

I was responsible for all journal entries as well as all cash coming into the facility from our front office, restaurant and pro shop on a daily basis.

bad Gm only cares about himself

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
having to deal  with lazy managers who sit and doing nothing. working paycheck to paycheck. Not praising staff only patting themselves especially GM. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
toxic and unfriendly. Place needs a new leader/GM who cares

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A day is filled with fixing other peoples problems and no one taking accountability
