Overall I love my job, coworkers, management and especially the clients we support.  It is a high paced job where management tries to put an emphasis on work life balance however the high volume of work and the only 35 hour work week results in it seeping over into your personal life without being compensated for many things done after hours.  This is a place to grow and learn, where their is a strong value put into continuing education and supervisors are very knowledgeable and willing to help you grow as a person. The benifits package and pention are a plus. Overall the pros far outway the cons and if you are someone who wants to learn and never be bored this is the place for you.

Can be fast-paced which in turn can sometimes be difficult to meet deadlines.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Working 9-4. In the Autism program it means scheduling meetings with clients throughout the day, material prep, traveling, meetings and report writing.

Canopy Support Services is an exceptional agency that truly puts clients and staff first. Continuing education opportunities are provided and work/home life balance is valued. The agency is continuously striving to provide the best services possible for clients while ensuring that employee's needs are also appreciated and considered. 

This is a fantastic place to work - wonderful, supportive management , varied responsibilities and a truly rewarding social services agency. I currently support 17 staff, 3 senior staff and 1 manager and they definitely keep me on my toes in the best way and allow me to be creative in my problem solving and job duties.

A very rewarding career with ongoing support and continuous learning. Employees at all levels are valued. Strong flexibility, time management and interpersonal communication skills required. Exceptional vacation time, and strong value placed on work life balance. Above average benefits plan plus a pension. 

After being in the field of ABA for a number of years and holding multiple positions across various agencies, I have found that CSS has been the most balanced, supportive, and fulfilling agency to work for! Work life balance is supported and I have pretty much full autonomy in my schedule to ensure I can see all of my clients and balance the ups and downs of life.

I worked as part of the Ontario Autism Program, which meant there were incredibly high standards. the amount of constant stress effected all other aspects of my life. You are fairly compensated and the benefits program is excellent.

This place is a joke! Zero transparency and horrible management/HR. Favouritism is seeping from the walls! Pay was pretty good but in the end not worth it. I’d rather work for less and be respected by my peers and managers. They buy out tenured and experienced staff to save money and hire young staff to replace them.

Although the work can be challenging, it brings an incredible amount of satisfaction.  The impacts are significant for children and their families, and it is something I love being a part of.  There are many opportunities to learn and to be a part of a dynamic, energetic, and passionate team.

Saw previous reviews and felt context was needed as there are some sour grapes out there. Some people have been let go and the poor reviews are from former staff—makes you wonder. Other reviews from current staff are positive—I think that speaks volumes.
