Management at Canrig Calgary gave me the opportunity to introduce a better engineering change management procedure. I felt that they value my contribution by asking me for my opinion and input in continuous improvement programs.

This company sucks. Entirely a buddy system. My last week there was nearly all18 hour days. Still got me thrown
under a bus by the coffee drinking useless  management. That's the problem when kids are given management spots and suddenly they are kings of the the oilfield when truly a pair of them could not even push a wheelbarrow.

Very clean shop environment to work in. I learned a lot about the oil and gas industry over the years I worked there. 
The management group where all great and easy to work and get along with.

The company is good to work for but most of the engineering is done in Houston and Calgary is only a satellite office. Thus it is seen as "support" which can be limiting.

No job security in this company, anytime you can get laid off.

Learned a lot of new things from this company, they give you a lot of training.

Good benefits.

Co-workers are nice except for a few.

lots of overtime in peak seasons.

Cant move up
Co-workers are very friendly and approchable and when you have an issue.
it is the long hours and the waiting for parts that are needed to complete daily tasks

Field work, lots of hours never home, rate of pay is low but make up for it on hours.  Hours come and go seasonally and pay can vary depending on time of year.

Good place to work willing to teach you how to do things great hours good bunch of people to work with had free pizza on safety days

Canadian division is expected to run too similarly to american divisions. Decisions are all driven from Houston with little to no regard for how they will affect Canadian market.

This was a on call base job. I was stationed in Grand Prairie ,AB most of the time. Had to travel a lot to and from land based oil drilling rig all over Saskatchewan, Alberta and BC.
