I would never recommend this Company. 

Poor salary, salary growth is 0.75$/year. No paid overtimes. CEO gives you a min wage for trial period, assuring if you pass you get something better. Never happens!

Poor management
Worst attitude. Late 2 minutes, deduct you 15 minutes from your salary. Late 16 minutes, deduct 30 minutes from your salary and so on. All day stressed. Be ready to be guilty in everything happens bad. Be ready never hear "Good Job" from management.
You feel yourself like a slave, always watched and reported by Office Assistant. Office Assistant is a cleaning lady and front desk representative in one position. Washrooms often miss soap, napkins and toilet paper. Not clean.

Warehouse is never cleaned, if you are not allergic on dust you may become in few months. 

Be ready to get some tasks which you are not authorized to do, or not safe to do, for example: change bulbs, height more then 3 m. No fall arrest training, no fall arrest equipment. If you refuse, same day they will find an issue (example: on the top shelf, left box is not taped right:)

Benefits: have you ever seen the cheapest pack? I wish to refuse from the benefits as it does not make sense to pay for (no dental benefits)

Inventory: if a pack (10 pieces) needles ($2-$3 value) is lost, CEO will push all employees to recalculate/recount all warehouse. Mistakes are usually done by main office in Montreal. But that office never makes mistakes, this is the policy since 1927.

Positive: if you still go work for them, warehouse old guy is really good. He will teach you everything he knows and will treat you really well. Very polite and very kind old gentleman. 

Usually CEO hires a young employee when Company is a bit overloaded with inventory and cleaning, when it is done - company does not need you.

A typical day at work could start with 25 emails with jobs to have done ASAP . Answering telephones, customer service counter , Invoicing , Order entry of purchase orders ,  PrePaying for customer orders via credit card , Balancing debit , visa . master card , company cheques & cash flow . Filing documents , Writing up customer contracts .Assisting Sales staff .Over seeing other staff  such as office workers & warehouse staff .

I have learned quite a bit since my start date @ Cansew such as how to manage a company from the warehouse to the office .

I have being fortunate up to about the past two years with co-workers . In the past 2 years or so I had had the experience of working with some kids who spent my time wasting company time then working . That to me is frustrating and unwanted .

The hardest part of the job is right now is being frustrated not having enough work to keep me busy all day .

The most enjoyable part of the job was learning all that I have in the last 18 years . What I enjoyed the most is working with different people in different companies , helping them with purchasing of our products , Customer Service is my most Enjoyable part of my job !

Great for job security, learning opportunities, decent benefits. They don't have an awesome staff lounge with free snacks and fun activities like the top rated jobs but they make up for it with sincerity and job longevity.

I started with cansew in the warehouse. My coworkers were great, they were patient with me and answered all of my questions as I learned all about the world of sewing notions. A lot of the staff at cansew have been working there for longer than I've been alive. That's always a good sign, right?

The work wasn't too hard or too boring. Customers were usually pretty nice too. Working at the order desk was just the right amount of social interaction and quiet independent work.

Working at cansew taught me a lot and led to other great career opportunities for me.

This was my first official job in my field as accounts receivable.
I had a great mentor as my manager and she should me how to manage by being fair and competent. She led by example in every way. 
My hardest part of the job  was the transition from manual to computerized. Everything was done twice to make sure that it was correctly processed in the computer.
I enjoyed every aspect of the job especially balancing to the last penny.

Productive and fun place as people have great sense of humor.  Many employees are polite and respect your privacy. When you need help you can ask for someone to assist you. There are many restaurants around the area and you have enough time to spend your lunch outside. 

I was subjected to harassment by the three staff in the front of the office. Included was comments against people who are LGBTQ+. I had to leave as I did not feel safe and notified the company that I contacted the labour board.

No common sense, if all employees will leave today nobody else will accept their mentality. Good company in the past. Today they apply same concept like 70 years ago. The controller is fron another planet, no common sense, week and no value for people.

I worked here for 10 years. There wasn't a lot of work to be done.  They were also hiring on new staff at a higher wage than me. They make it seem great and competitive at the beginning. But then they treat their long time employees badly. 

the owner is abusive and mean. HE laughed when i asked for a 1$ raise and said id only ever make 15 cents more than i am at the time... which was 14$. he hired someone right after me at 3 $ more than what i asked.

My colleagues were always very energetic and very respectful. Went very into detail as to how everything is done to ensure a proper workplace and avoid errors while working.
