Work related training lasted just over a week. During a transitional period for the company, sufficient tools needed to do the job to the fullest (i.e phone, scanner, monitor) were not supplied, but always promised. 

Each day would consist of the same three tasks which would take roughly 3 hours per day to complete on average, followed by obtaining documents for new hires only by email as phone was never provided. 

The office culture was extremely cliquey. A lot of talking behind other's backs but being told what you want to hear. An office environment that is most certainly looking for people to work beyond the 9 to 5 and not to complain. 

I learned very little working at this role as the training had not been complete due to lack of access or tools required. I would advise to any future staff members to go in knowing you're expendable no matter the effort put forth if you have any sort of backbone. 

I appreciate the opportunity that was provided to me but one that I regret taking. A very unprofessional and inefficient office that bleeds out onto the field staff who work tirelessly and have to deal with the office politics.

Worked in the office. Incredibly stressful. 

During training you do not receive the tools you need such a computer monitor, mouse, keyboard, phone, email, logins, or really anything you need to compete the job. 

If you make a mistake, good luck to you. You’ll be ridiculed and picked apart. I’ve seen people crying in the office due to lack of support and passive aggressive behaviour from higher ups. I cried many times on my way home and had to bite my tongue to stop from crying in the office.

You are also randomly told to work holidays last second and the hours + pay sucks. They also have weeks in the year around Christmas time you are not allowed to take any time off, no exceptions. Not even for emergencies! Also, if you do not call in sick to work 4 hours before your shift, they give you a 4 day unpaid suspension. Is that even legal?!! 

Save yourself the stress and high blood pressure. Find something else cause it’s not worth it. All that to make about $1200 a pay check. (Under 30k a year)!!!!! 

A typical day is one has a schedule that is given to you. Most employees start at 7am and end around 9pm. There is some break in the afternoon for LPN. For on call employee may not get much of a break in the afternoon depending on the need. You see clients at their home for a few minutes or depending on what one has to do. Of course wound care is going to take longer. As an employee, you may have to travel to various places in the city or surrounding areas. You do meet a lot of really nice people. The company does not pay for any percentage of gas. The employee has to claim all expenses at years end at tax time. The hardest part of the job is organizing the clients so that you don't spend to much on gas. The most enjoyable part is meeting interesting people. Management appear to be nice but if you are one for challenging, then they choose there favorites.

the absolute worst job i ever had.the office staff and schedulers are very unprofessional.they schedule you for hours then come up with excuses and reschedule you somewhere else.they over work you and no appreciation at all.they don't look after their employees.schedulers are always messing up and never taking the responsibility and blame you instead.I am happy to say i am employed with another company now and its so much better.if your thinking of working here take my advice and don't! you are worth so much more. and for the record you don't get any raises and no benefits.

I was most impressed with my Manager and her ability to communicate and understand me and my needs to do the best job I could. She taught me a lot in growing in my existing experience but to be flexible in learning new lessons. I am truly grateful for I feel I am a better person and Nurse Aide. Also, there were very supportive staff that could be reached at all hours for support and information.  Home Health is very rewarding and often times stressful. I never felt alone and could always talk about my concerns and get support and information.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Company is not organized and management is worse. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Long schedule but They are not giving you enough time to complete it. sometimes there is 4-5 clients in schedule on same time slot, How we can reach all 4 clients at the same time. Really stressful and rushed job.

This is a wonderful place to work, you need to be dedicated to your job however. They do not allow time for constant issues, calling in sick, they are held to high standards and they hold the staff to the same. There is lots of driving as there is with any home care. The schedulers are busy, but will always do the best they can to assist all the staff. If you love your job this is a wonderful way of putting it to work. Not a 5 star as of course everything has areas they can approve upon

The organization is biased, selfish, and self-centered. They assign you 7 to 8 clients at the same time and then blame you for rushing them. Their primary concern is their own interests; they disregard the needs of field workers, offer no compensation for mileage or overtime, and do not pay for certain public holidays. It’s clear why many employees leave within a short period. This is the worst place to work, and the Government of Alberta should consider shutting it down.

Grateful for the knowledge and skillsets I acquired in this position, staff  was understanding & helpful to the best of their abilities, was like a family at a point. I enjoyed the work itself as it was very purposeful & you build great interpersonal relationship s with the clients/ families. I will always remember my times there & the experiences I gained. Was a great stepping stone onto bigger opportunities. The pay was alright although I thought it was great at the time. 

Worked with pediatrics. Disorganized and not very accommodating to the family as from what parents have told me from what happened in the past. Even as an LPN working for them they’re not very accommodating. Had time off denied as early as requested two weeks ahead of time. No night premium available. Always call last minute to see if you’re available to work even though it is not in your  Availabilities.
