My experience with this CareCorp started out well but became more challenging over time.

While working in a management role, I often felt closely supervised by senior leadership. Ideas and decisions were frequently questioned, and autonomy felt limited, which made it difficult at times to effectively lead and support my team. The work environment felt discouraging.

One of my significant concerns was the condition of the building. During my time there, there were ongoing issues that appeared to include mice, with droppings observed in multiple areas, including resident spaces and personal belongings. This was very concerning for both staff and residents, who deserve a clean and safe environment. The building itself also appeared to be in need of maintenance.

When concerns were raised, it sometimes felt as though they were not fully addressed or prioritized. At times, it seemed that operational priorities outweighed focus on staff support and resident experience.

Compensation and benefits were also an area of concern. Sick days aligned with minimum government requirements, and there was no pension plan or retirement savings matching. Overall benefits felt limited relative to the level of responsibility and stress involved.

There was also a high level of staff turnover during my time there. Over approximately a year and a half, there were multiple changes in management and frequent staff transitions, which made consistency and team cohesion challenging.

Based on my experience, I would encourage improvements in leadership approach, building conditions, employee support, and overall focus on resident wellbeing.

your job is to work quickly and cleanly within a time period

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
isolating and unless you speak Punjab then you are an outsider and they tend not to talk too you

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
come in assess the level of juice for all the fridges you are supplying.  Get the steam cart organized for food portioning.  Get special sandwiches for specific people in your care.  Check on salad and if it is done.  At appropriate time wheel the steam cart to the first designated dining room and portion out food according to the care aide. Go to next dining room and do the same.  Go back to first one and collect dishes, wash dishes, wipe tables.  Then go to the other and bring dishes back and do them separately.  Wash tables.  Take garbage down to the main kitchen, return steam cart to the main kitchen and plug in again.

Mix of routine tasks and dynamic interactions with residents, where I am responsible for providing personal care, assisting with daily activities, and offering emotional support. I've learned the importance of effective communications, patience, empathy, and adaptability in managing the needs of residents with varying conditions. The management team is supportive, but the real strength of the workplace lies in the close-knit culture where everyone is committed to making a positive difference in the lives of those we care for. The hardest part of the job is witnessing the decline of residents or the emotional toll that family members experience, which can sometimes feel overwhelming. However, the most rewarding part of the job is seeing the residents’ smiles and knowing that, in some small way, I’ve made their day better by providing compassionate care.

They treat their staff like nothing. They only favour certain number of people in the company. They donot listen to your concerns. They donot believe in your hardwork. They keep on looking at your mistakes that you have made. While I was committed to providing quality care, I found that the work environment was far from supportive. Issues around respect, confidentiality, and communication were ongoing, and despite raising these concerns, they went unaddressed by management. Attempts to communicate with the care manager about these challenges were ignored, leaving me feeling undervalued and unsupported.

Overall, I felt that the facility lacked a commitment to fostering a respectful and inclusive workplace. For anyone considering joining be aware that while resident care is important, the support and respect for staff may fall short of expectations.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The residents are lovely. They come from all different walks of life, and there are many different personalities. Never a dull moment, and always someone to strike up a conversation with.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Everything besides the residents. Most staff are  exhausted and don't care anymore, and the residents know it. Zero support from management.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Horrible. No one communicates, staff do not care, management does not deal with issues and are not supportive.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Working 100% alone, and leaving work exhausted.

Very challenging environment to work when Manager does nothing to support staff being on the floor interacting with Residents and staff other than making a 5min if that, perception appearance and then sits in office all day. Plays favorites, mingles with certain staff after hours.
Very unprofessional.
When Residents and other staff become aware of these scenarios it creates a toxic workplace.

As a ex employee, I found care Corp/ management in need of a over haul . I use to love going to work , as I found out the more you do they more they expect without any concern to your health/ welfare . Sadly it’s the residents that pay for lack of people caring , the ones that do get burnt out from trying to do more. 
Also as one rule has been if your sick stay home , they have totally looked the other way and allowed sick people to work they fudge the temps on many . So disappointed in lack of care or responsibility of upper management.

The management, so rude and power trips so much.

Absolutely trash. I wouldn’t recommend working here

Idk I don’t know my job description as I got one that didn’t match me. Don’t work here!! Especially in management it’s terrible

I worked in this facility for 17 years and since Bill 29 has take into effect in the province many health care workers who worked at the private sector were affected wage & benefit wise. I underwent two contractors since then and at present I am employed with Carecorp and we always have problem  about payrollerrors. Pay cheque after pay cheque and you have to struggle or fight for a no error pay which to me is stressful.

I had the worst experience working there for only 2.5 months. I will always regret in my whole life where they don't know how to value their staff. Management will never listen to your concern, all they gonna tell you that you have to listen to your nurses, respect them( they don't care if they are doing the same thing or not) wish them. Be very careful applying for this location because your mental health will be destroyed for sure.
