most of our days are busy and fun.  lots of engagement in the community with our clients - there are challenging days, but they are made up for by the fun days and watching the development of our clients.  Overall - as long as you are willing to work and ready to fully support the clients- this is a great place to work.  the staff are generally friendly and supportive of each other and new staff are always welcome. 
I have read some of the negative reviews and feel it is important to mention "you only get out of it what you put into it" so if you come in expecting a free ride, then this isn't the place for you... but if you work hard and most importantly care about the work you're doing - you will love this job!

Great Company to Work for. Typical day at work was promoting health safety and wellness for an individual with disabilities. Medication monitoring, making meals, personal hygiene assistance,  taking individual out in the community.  Friendly fun staff and organization to help promote wellness for individuals. After being hired they actually let me go on a vacation that I had planned before being hired and was still able to keep the job. Gave SIVA training which was excellent (supporting Individuals through Value Attachments).



Carmichael Enterprise is unique in the industry in the sense that it has been built to retain its employees. Most organizations in the industry burn through as many workers as they can but Carmichael Enterprise treats their employees well, and rewards them fairly. Management is well put together and overall experience is 9/10 because with every organization there will be room to grow. The people that this organization serves are in good hands. 

A great opportunity to learn how to work with challenging behaviours, however the burnout rates are high and management is more concerned with trying to keep their own jobs than supporting their teams. They'd prefer to just keep hiring rather than to support those who are already there. Lots of conflict among staff, with no conflict management in place. Management is continuously fighting against unionization.

This is not a job for the weak of heart! This company takes on some of the most difficult clients, but they treat their employees very well and deal with situations professionally and BY THE BOOK! Lots of training included, before and throughout employment. Benefits for f/t staff only.

They do not pay overtime although they need you to work it constantly, severely under staffed, the houses have little support from management, under funded clients so it's hard to provide quality of life. 

I enjoy working with individuals and the training i get helps me do my job  well. Teamwork is the best asset of the company and the manager employee relationship is so open and close making it a comfortable work environment.

They take difficult clients because they get the most money for them then hire under qualified staff to work with them. 
The pay is poor and it is difficult to get benefits  
Management actively fought against unionization.

Carmichael offers a wide range of services to people with a vast array of challenges. There is a place here for everyone, both as a client and as an employee.

If you work for this company, you will regret it. They do everything they can to get around employment standards, human rights, etc., and to disregard the legal rights of their employees.
