The people that I worked for were awesome it was very hard for me to leave as they were all great people.
Hardest part of job - very strictly regulated
Most enjoyable - the freedom to work out on the gaming floor and the ability to talk directly with customers and not be restricted to an office

When I was hired it was like winning the lottery. At the time it was one of the most celebrated employers in my area. They paid everyone good and provided great benefits.
The one thing that I’ll always miss was the work environment. It was an entertainment complex and it was like chilling at a party and getting paid for it.
However this employer is going through some tuff times and laying off a lot of its workers and their managers, rehiring them at half their wage and providing no benefits. Business is business and I understand the need for the greater good for the employer to survive but it’s a shame how it took such a nose dive. I still miss it!

EXTREMELY TOXIC WORK ENVIRONMENT.  It doesn't matter what department you work in either.  Everyone is sleeping with everyone.  Everyone is miserable.  Management and above are horrible and only care about their bonuses.  They care about high rollers more then their associates.  Ruins ppl lives and destroy families. You work every weekend, holiday, midnights and shift work. Time off is constantly denied. Including your own wedding, honeymoon and family funerals.
Your child can pass away and they force you back to work after  few weeks.  

A typical day at work was fun never a dull moment, I learned the art of the gaming industry loved it and I was exceptional as a Table Games Dealer.  Management was exceptional, workplace culture was diverse and we all were our own company family.  The hardest part of the job was it wasn't geared to a family lifestyle that industry was more suited to the single lifestyle.  The most enjoyable part of the job was the customers, co-workers, the job itself didn't really feel like work it was more like fun entertaining.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Thinking about retirement. Seriously, there's nothing good about working here anymore. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
We used to have staff, now all the company cares about is $$$. People=Garbage. It's very bad. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Horrendous does not adequately describe the treatment of employees by this company. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Doing 3 times more than I should for not nearly the money I am worth.

I was a key member of the Opening Team and had the opportunity to schedule over 200 staff members. Started as a Slot Supervisor and was promoted to Dual Shift Manager. Worked closely with the Gaming Commission in order to meet regulatory requirements. Handled customer concerns to their satisfaction.

You start off with midnights and get continued promises of advancement but never see them. Midnights from 2 am to 10 30 am allows no life style and a very poor social life.

Management was good, however, because you are on contract, easily replaced and job stability is non existent. Every three months you may or may not still have a job.

Not recommended for everyone.

I was recently employed at Casino Niagara for 9yrs, it was a great job, i enjoyed serving customers and working as a team player, I was offered a buyout from Casino Niagara and i took it, i needed a change so i took the Personal Support Worker course, and absouletly loved it.. I am currently looking for Work in the Health Care environment. I have good communication skills, very friendly,and enjoy working with people.

Ok. Well working for the Casino has been an interesting job. You meet people from all over the world. This has been the highlight of my job. The company is so caring to there employees. I have found after the 18 years of employment that you have watched peoples lives change due to losing money and this is why I would like a career change.

Understanding of customers race and cultures is an asset.

They offer courses to keep you up to date on job requirements or just for your personal interests.

Communication is a must and to form good relationships with staff from all departments.
