When I was hired I had little experience and they knew that taking me on. Over the months that I was there I was told I was doing good. My 3 month review came up and again I was told I was doing well I just I needed to work X and Y and that I had 30 days to make said improvements and if I did O would receive a raise. I was actively  working to making improvements. Until one day I was pulled into HR and told I was getting let go. I felt extremely blindsided by this because I was consistently being told I was doing good. I was told that I needed more experience...

Training needs a lot of work the main person that was responsible for training was consistently busy or working away from the office so I never really got trained properly and had to resort to asking others to help me taking time away from their own work. 

Overall I really enjoyed working there. Rate of pay was excellent but benefits weren’t very great. Co-workers were an awesome group of people to work. However they way I was blindsided left me with a bad taste in my mouth.

When I started working for Casman Building Solutions in 2016 as a carpenter, it was meant to be a temporary job until I found something more suited to my area of previous experience. My mind was quickly changed after working for a few weeks and seeing what Casman had to offer their employees. There is ample opportunities to get additional training related to their employees current position (various safety, computer program, and equipment training) and they are willing to help employees reach their future career goals (various leadership, ethics, and management training). Management works hard to maintain an open door policy with all staff and aren't afraid to help out in the field when it's needed. Work can be fast paced during busy times, but that is to be expected in the construction industry and the hard work put in by all staff does not go unrecognized.

This company allows employees to advance in their careers through sponsoring Education and on the job training. The compensation package is stronger than most in the industry.  It is fast paced project work so it is a great company for people who are adaptable and looking for new challenges.

I started in a low level administrative job with Casman but over the course of a few years have been able to advance to a more senior position. Casman places a great value on education and I was able to take multiple courses as I took on new roles and responsibilities. Hard work is recognized and rewarded here.

I worked in accounting department for about 2.5 years. The accounting team and the manager were great. I would recommend this job for someone who doesn’t like changes or does not want to build a career. 
Very good company and place to work, however, it’s almost impossible to get promoted or to get a raise.

There are numerous benefits and incentives to progress your career, whether it be providing training or sponsorship for schooling, to taking care of costs for enrollment for furthering your education. There is also significant room for career advancement. You are always learning and Casman puts you in a position to succeed at this. 

I have been here for over 13 years and am very happy here. The management is great to deal with, open door policy. It is a family atmosphere, with many employees being here for quite some time. I feel like I am valued by most, and am happy to come to work pretty much every day!

the fort mcmurray and oil sands industry is based on safety of the workplace so lots of training is involved in the job itself before you go any further but due to oil crisis and the fire happened in fort mcmurray its very harsh situation

Don't bother applying here if you know what you're doing. This company rewards only those who have no idea of customer service or are related to the founder. It's a great place to work if you are a child.
