Cedarvale Terrace Long Term Care Home

Being a personal support worker is a challenging profession.  You can encounter different individual like from the workmate to the resident, everyone have different culture and different beliefs. In my workplace we have respect with each other, between resident and worker.

In my experience as personal support worker when everybody respect each individual  and work as a team the job goes smooth and successful in every end of the shift.

Between management and employees and residents there always an open communication in order to avoid miscommunication and misunderstanding. 

If I see my resident is comfortable of what I am doing for them and I see a smile in their face it makes me happy.

It is a highly Italian cultured-environment. The very first thing to learn is the language, as to make job easier, and well communicated with patients, family, and visitors. Management of Cedarvale are very supportive, easy-to-find them, approachable, and well-educated individuals. Working with different cultural background is fun in the workplace, all hands-on-deck is the main key to make everything possible. The most enjoyable part at workplace is when every problem are solved and surpassed.

For my past 10 years I really enjoy my job so well my co workers are heavenly good and very  helpful. I have no complaint at all. Any problem are being look after by the in charge manager. Sometimes having lots of load work really affect the aervice. In my opinion it will help the shortage of worker if they designated person in each floor exta gelp to maintain the safety of the residents

CVT was a place that you can learned different languages, different upbringings, etc. Residents can be very challenging at times, however, they can be the most loving people you will encounter. I learned a lot from our residents and coworkers as well. Some of the staff are accommodating and some are not. Staff can be challenging as well but they can impart what was necessary. Sadly, CVT will close soon but memories it left behind will always be ingrained in our hearts forever.

I am working in the evening shift and assign in the heavy floor. I learned a lot of techniques to handle difficult situations. The residents there are from different cultures and religions which I need to deal with. I love to work with the elderly people because it reminds me my grandparents who are the one who raised me. And to pay back my love and care for my grandparents thru working in the nursing home.

Cedarvale Terrace is a Long Term Care facilities. I am working in the kitchen department where we prepare meal for the residents at the home.

Working in the kitchen is really a busy workplace. WHere you will focus on the time for preparation. You have to consider the Time management strategy.

Looking for a job with benefits for a better living. I feel that If I got a job like in the City of Toronto as a PSW, it will be a life long job for me and my family as to provide a better salary and moat importantly, the benefits that I will get from the Government

CVT is a very productive place to learn, variable  and very convenient schedule to work, great people to enjoy the life.  The most enjoyable part of the job to chat with residents


Good company hoping for more times to work and chances to know majority of the residents. To those pioneers, hopefully they give each other support and good team works.

I loved working here. The staff is incredible and the job culture is just phenomenal. The rapport built between staff and clients (including families) allows for a more multi-disciplinary approach to care.
