Working in a cruise ship specially in Celebrity Cruise Line is fun and a lot of challenges. There are different things to learn everyday specially in handling guests as there are different kinds of approaches depending on the culture and attitudes of our guests. Everyday is a busy day but as a team player, we always make sure that our guests will leave the desk happy. We were trained to be patient and do the best we can to make the cruise experience of our guests memorable. In my field of work, there is always a challenge and don't consider it as a hard part of the job specially complaints as there's always a solution in every problem our guests encounter and it is always constructive because it's a chance for improvement. The most enjoyable part of my job is we meet a lot of guests with different nationalities learning their cultures and be friends with. Knowing that our guests enjoyed their vacation with us, makes our everyday life very rewarding.

My day used to start at 7 in the morning with a meeting with my supervisor. Then I began my cleaning work in all public areas of the ship. I had lunch at 12 noon. At 3 o'clock in the afternoon I started again and then I used to have dinner at 6 o'clock in the afternoon. At 7PM I returned to my work to finish at 9 o'clock at night.  
I learned to use several cleaning machines and improved my conversation in English.
The administration was very good. My supervisors were always very kind, I learned a lot from them.  The work culture I loved because at Celebrity we are a team and we like to help each other.  There were no difficult parts in my work, I always enjoyed working for Celebrity.
The part I enjoyed the most was meeting people of different cultures and nationalities. I also enjoyed visiting many beautiful places in Europe and the Caribbean Sea.

my typical day at work includes cleaning and maintaining the orderliness of the public areas including public restrooms. i have learned about dealing with multi cultural environment in a friendly and professional manner. The management were very good, they make sure that the guests are truly experiencing great quality five star service in accordance with all safety standards. My international colleagues are fun to be with and very supportive in all aspect. The hardest part of my job would be the long hours of work everyday without day off. And the most enjoyable part of it was i get to travel all over the world for free as well as meeting new people all the time.

Worked on Millennium ship cruising the USA, Caribbean and South America. Worked as Photographer doing studio set up shoots, informal shoots, private shoots, parties and worked in Gallery as sales and services assistant. Loved the work and getting to travel to new different and incredible places (particularly Costa Rica and San Juan and a 2 week dry dock break in New York City in the winter!) and meet lots of exciting and different people. Hard work and very little sleep and time off but a brilliant, life changing experience!

Working on a cruise ship is a unique experience, not for the faint of heart or those who are not strong, mentally, physically, and emotionally.  You should be prepared to spend 6+ months away from home, work every day, for many jobs in the range of 10+ hours per day.  On the plus side, you meet people from all around the world, travel to interesting places, and party like there's no tomorrow.  Experiences depend greatly on the type of position you have.  If you are considering working on a cruise ship, be sure to talk to people who have actually done it before applying, to know if this is for you.

Every day is different on the cruise ships, a different day means a different place, I meet people from all around the world, coworkers and customers, I had the opportunity to work for a five star company with the best managers and an extraordinary environment.
The best part of this job is that it changed my perspective about the entire world, the fact that I worked with more than 30 nationalities made me a better person.

It's either for you or not for you. It is a job opportunity that takes you all over the world. However, it is at the price of working 7 days a week, no days off, for 6 to 9 months straight. You can sort of explore ports, depending on your job, but half the time you just want to sleep because you're working 10-12 hour days. The hierarchy can be tricky with management, and with all of them it makes your job more difficult than not.

Every day is very busy , we receive trainings every day about menu knowledge ,service steps, the management is great very flexible , hardest part of the job is the main dining room for dinner but we all are trained to provide our guests great service ,the most enjoyable part of the job is to see all goals were reached ,guests are happy so we are happy too.

You get to travel to many destinations around the world, but you work 6 month contracts and you away from your family. Depending on your position on the ship you may have to work long hours. The bonus is getting to meet people from all over the world. They also spend a lot of time on training in customer service which helps you when you decide to get into another profession in that field
