Cementation

On the trades side management was awesome. But once I became a little higher in the company and working away, into what they call the western division, the mining superintendent I was working for was old school, threatened me to be fired multiple times when he had no grounds or reason to do so other than he didn't understand the electrical side of the project and was too egotistical to listen to reason. Unfortunately this had been the 4tg project I had worked on with cementation. And it was the same at each. The old school mentality of not caring about your men has to change. You are only as good as your men. 

-Normal day 10.5 hour shifts as Development Miner.  Dayshifts and Atfernoon.
-Learned the duties of a Development miner as explained in my resume.  How the ground changes from place to place in regards to drilling.
-Had a great management team and worked well together.
-Co-workers on the team were excellent, everyone had the same goal in regards to productivity and safety.
-14 night shifts in a row.
-Succeeding at our goals for the day and working with co-workers with the same goals and having a great safety record.

Safety is number 1 there,  they don't care if u spend 90 % of shift making it safe as long as it waranted.  Always follow rules , lots of oversize to make sure all work is done safe and productive manner. I was a mobile mechanic,  hot work., like I was 1660 meters down, 38 deg cel is normal,  u get used to it. Be sure to hydrate. All stuff needed supplied,  boots hard hats belts . Great company.  Was part of group did 4.5 million man hours no lost time injuries. 

moving material from surface to underground, dealing with many contractors management to get material to right levels. Co -workers are very understanding and what to get material to all righrt storages in a safe and organize matter. The hardest part of job is getting material underground on the perferred days thar are scheduled reak downs make it stressful. when we succeed at the end of the shift what was schedule to do at the beginning of the shift.

One of the worlds best management teams I've ever worked with they have high expectations in safety

Taking flights from other cities delays

It's a very positive culture everyone is very welcoming your always part of the team 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Depending on what my task is Drilling mucking hanging vent tubes or pipe if not helping others

I enjoyed working for Cementation because they have great teachers for the new guys that are trying this field out. They are very safety conscious and allow you to learn the proper way to do the job right. 
The management team was great because they had an open door policy and were very easy to talk to. 
The most enjoyable part of the job was being able to learn the new skills they taught me and put them to good use.

Not safe at all. if you get hurt might as well pack your bags, they will not accommodate you in anyway, they will leave you hurt, alone and broke with all the new stresses of being abandoned after they promise you the world. Working for this company has put me and my family in a dark place that nobody should ever have to be in. Never felt like just a number till i needed them to tell the truth.

People were good and camps some off supervisors were picks cant say no more about that never gave person chance only go out of camps no good all shifters were great love it underground what I spent there only for big boys saying your done didnt even have 3 month trail as they say when you go to mine site only go dont come back in such words

always catered to what we needed

Cementation was a great company to work for safety was a number one concern. benefits and pay was among the best. The team work and working with management were excellent.
