Chandler

For a company with so many resources it’s incredibly inept.
-ZERO on-boarding, “here’s your equipment now go figure it out yourself”
-Nothing worked my first day, log-in’s, phone wasn’t set up, laptop was a brick, literally took a month to properly get set up because of all the incredibly confusing layers of IT you need to work through
- Incredibly understaffed, 2 week orders take 6-8 and only IF you hound ppl to do them
- They’re always on credit hold with suppliers 
- I was told they would give me a year to gain traction, try 6 weeks (with very little help) and don’t you dare tell them there is a better way or how to fix it.
- Only focus is on Irving business, so trying to generate business outside of those affiliates is almost impossible (and most non-JDI organizations it seems don’t want to deal with Irving anyway) 
-The new sales role is a meat grinder, 6 reps in 3-4 years in the same job says all you need to know. They all think they can be different, you won’t be.
-You have zero chance to meet whatever sales goals they may have (they didn’t even give me a sales target or KPI target)

I was so excited to join this organization when I started and couldn’t wait to leave 3 months in. Look elsewhere. 


What is the best part of working at the company?
There was no best part. It is home to rats, IT is ancient, and only one account truly matters there.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The most stressful part was it was understaffed at the warehouse. When your business is wholesale, the warehouse is the business.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Work environment was rats, loud salesmen shouting and ranting and overall terrible moral. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Protecting yourself from the crossfire between warehouse and salesmen. Knee deep in customer service issues.

If you are management or office staff you can do no wrong, it all gets blamed on the warehouse staff. If you mention anything to management about needing vacation, repairs needed on equipment etc. Make sure you record the conversation and send in an email because they will forget and will say the conversation never happen. The sales staff have no idea what they are selling or even if they have it in inventory because nobody can input it correctly into the computer system. Job was good but dealing with all the mistakes and mis communication was stressful and a huge headache.

Great employer, good benefits, fair wages, good group of people to work with.

No stress if you do your work.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Very good, nice group of people to work with clean modern offices and warehouse most up to date equipment to work with.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Busy and productive interesting with different problems throughout your day.

Chandler is the worst company I've ever experienced.  Turnover is excessive.  In less than 3 years the branch manager and operations manager have changed 4 times.  People are not treated equally as upper management plays favorites.  Safety is an after thought as isles are filled with product. Equipment (rolling stairs) are broken and dangerous.  Systems used are from the 90's.  Really shocking that the Irving's don't address these issues.

Worked at Chandler for almost a year in an outside sales roll.
Hard to believe That a company with such history could manage a sales company so poorly.
Managers were non existent when it came to offering direction. Absolutely no guidance, no tools for success or no management support.
Older experienced reps offered little to no support. Absolutely the worst run dales irganization I have ever witnessed in 25 years of dales

The management is overbearing and unsupportive. They'd rather try to find things you are doing wrong rather then take the time to help you. The work place is very clicky and some staff will go out of their way to report you to management to make themselves feel better. It's a decent pay but not worth the stress.

This sales position is a great opportunity.  Lucrative career path.  Highly collaborative team environment.  You must be self motivated.  The opportunity is their for you to achieve.  Go get it.  Management empowers you with the tools needed to succeed.  

Chandler is an Atlantic Canadian based company. Some reviews on here are from american's. Definitely not the same company. Chandler has good benefits, opportunity for advancement, and like most places, you get out what you put in. I would absolutely recommend Chandler as a good place to work. 

An environment that gives employees the opportunity to utilize and build their skills. Good people and great team members. Everyone is equally treated.
