As a full-time student, I mostly schedule my work on weekends and one additional weekday since weekends are usually very busy for us. First and foremost, I have learned about integrity and teamwork, especially during busy days. Offering a helping hand goes beyond just our responsibilities—it is an important part of our workplace culture, particularly in a multicultural environment where coworkers come from different regions of the world. Since everyone has different abilities, effective communication is key, especially when reporting tasks and ensuring smooth operations.

One of the hardest parts of the job is being available on time and managing tight deadlines to finish rooms while maintaining the required quality standards. The work can be repetitive, as it involves performing the same tasks consistently to meet industry standards. However, I enjoy the fast-paced environment, collaborating with my team, and contributing to positive outcomes. Well-prepared rooms not only play a crucial role in the hotel's success but also lead to great reviews from guests, making all the hard work worthwhile.

I have more than 15 years work experience in accounting/ auditing office management, customer service/ order desk and inventory control as well. I can work well under pressure with minimal supervision or without any supervision and multitask to meet tight deadlines in a fast paced environment. 

I have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and i enjoy working in any kind of business/ industry or office environment  where i can use my clerical aptitude, excellent  customer service and accounting skills. I am very flexible and would like to make myself available to work whenever needed. Also I am a quick learner and enjoy learning things job related  or anything business related. I enjoy and love my workplace and i always think that, I am a part of the business more than just an employee. I am sure that I can make a difference and will contribute huge to the growth of the business and thereby i can also grow gradually to higher levels in a span of couple of years.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The staff were all awesome! I never had an issue working there

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
If someone wanted to check in at 9:00 a.m. By Request and the room was a check out. Wasn't really stressful but it was a bit of pressure

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
A beautiful environment very caring and drama free. My manager would always say, leave the drama on the other side of the door! LOL I'll never forget that

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Housekeeping was hard work I'm not going to lie but if you take your breaks and you drink water regularly it gets easier as your time progresses. The first few weeks may be hardest on your body if you've never done it before after that it should be good

What is the best part of working at the company?
Most co workers . Management could use an overhaul.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The general manager is a nasty woman. Has no respect for her employees.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Good overall. With the exception of the general manager who has no business working for any hotel.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Great.  When the General manager wasn’t there.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Meeting guests from all over who are positive and kind.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Working for people in mid pandemic who cancel your health care

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It was never in between. Slow and nothing to do after extras are done or so fasted nothing can be done

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Drama between staff, untrustworthy manager who was a compulsive liar.

Choice Hotels Canada is like working with family members. Everyone works as a team for the one common goal, help our franchisees get better. It is a place where you wake up daily wanting to make a difference. Senior Leadership Team leads by example and gives clear direction as to the companies goal, future outlooks, and possibilities. Always open to discussions, feedback, and recommendations. Hoping to spend many more years working for this great organization. 

Typical day would be answering the phones, addressing complaints, contacting management of complaint hotel, following up with customer on a resolution. Manager was fantastic! Team was awesome! Hardest part? Really gelling with co-workers because there wasn't any time to. Most enjoyable part? Helping out others whether it be a co-worker, customer or hotel management.

They didn't have paid sucks day and paid days off that I know of ... but they where very nice people to work with and when you needed time off they where real good at getting you the time off , I loved working there the people where great the job it self was just a job that is hard on your body but the people are great I would go back just for the people alone ... Hope ya all are doing good at the comfort inn in Charlottetown PE Canada

My bosses and team mates love cleaning lol 😆

time restrictions on rooms and when there's late check outs

amazing co workers always positive vibes amd and we all get along 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
cleanings rooms and hotel.......

The hotel isnt horrible but definitely there is a management issue when i first was there in 2021 and still under different management in 2022.  Now i wouldnt work there at all nor ever recommend anyone to.  But as a boutique hotel its comfortable and the ownership group did spend money to make it nice.  For the most part the guests are pleasant.  I also often did shifts at the front desk as well as supervise housekeeping.
