The most stressful part of working with Christian Horizons is catching up with the fast pace of their pursuit for ideas and thoughts for a great support. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The environment is family oriented and the culture is inclusion,  Support and dedication to provide the best self direct care to those that use their services. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A typical day for me at Christian Horizons is a lwas stressful situation. It's all about direct care , compliance with the requirements like documentation,  creating safe environment for a great productivity and meeting the daily needs of the persons I support .

What is the best part of working at the company?
Working with the individuals.  It's very humbling.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Your manager having an affair with one of your coworkers and you can't report it for fear of retaliation. When the manager has favorites makes for a very stressful working environment.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It depends greatly on who your working with. Having a manager who listens to both sides is often non existent.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Once again it can depend on who your working with as in any job.

As a director, I found the staff very involved, supportive, encouraging to fellow staff and especially to our clients. Working with the developmentally disabled is very rewarding. The clients are warm, trusting, welcoming, and fun to be around. There are never two days alike, the challenges are always new and much can be learned if one is willing. The families of the clients are also very supportive and show concern for the staff as well as for their family member. It is easy to forget about the clock and spend extra time in the residence because everyone is so engaging.

People I work for and with. Safe and friendly environment. Fair wages.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Management. Lacks a lot in leadership and accountability.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
As we are a small team the work environment is great. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Arrive at 8 am make sure people support led are all ready to start their day and we leave to our daily activities in the community

Some of the management is amazing, and others are awful, and there really is no in between. You either have great days or awful days, and although the clients are great to work with, some of the workers aren't so great, and if you get stuck with them, then your whole day is spent picking up their slack. Oversight seems really minimal, which can be fine if you're with good workers, but if you're stuck with a dud, nobody will do anything about it. Nobody gets fired, nobody gets reprimanded, people have been physically threatened by staff or fallen asleep on the job, and still nothing is done. 

This place really sucks. They do not care about their employees or their clients. The management would instead look good then be focused on person-centred care. The schedulers are very mean and would rather take away the time you had and say it is your fault. Do not work here. They do not like paying you for all your hours and will make you fight for them. They will call you while you are at home and then punish you for not answering when you are off the clock. 

Most Managers are OK and others excellent treating you kindly and respectfully, Some Managers are bullies, speaking to you as if a child.or yelling.at you..   People are resigning due to poor Management.  Staff are overworked and under paid. Expects staff to work double shift. They say they do not want staff to work alone yet sometimes you do without as much as a thank you. Management is always busy very dismissive if you offer suggestions creates toxic environment. Comes down to control. 

Help support individuals who live with intellectual disabilities. Care is done in residential group home settings with up to 6 people supported. Staffing is usually really good, managers are great and Christian Horizons is extremely supportive of their staff. The most enjoyable part is seeing how happy the people you support are and the smiles on their faces when you come on shift

Colleagues were kind, but many were not trained to a high standard of care. I left a position because I did not feel comfortable with the poor level of care we were providing certain clients - even with safeguarding plans in place. This caused me a great deal of stress as an employee.  

Genuinely wonderful ethos and some colleagues captured this well in empowering clients and empowering one another... but not the same across all management styles and accommodations.

Christian Horizons has a very toxic work environment. My experience was not pleasant I worked at 3 different homes and at all homes Gossiping and talking down about fellow staff and making staff feel like they were not welcome by setting them up to fail. Making up stories and speading false rumors around the work place about staff until the staff feel there is no other option but to quit.
