Management could have done a much better job at communication. The implementation of phone pick up orders, delivery apps, and different procedures at the cash were not consistently communicated to all staff members. It was also evident that the owners had some disagreements about how things should be run, which led to further inconsistencies in communication to the staff. 
They claimed to accept feedback but any time I brought up an issue, it was dismissed or met with some passive-aggressive comment. It felt like the sole priority was raking in as much money as possible, even at the expense of complete disorganization or breaking curfew rules. 
Scheduling shifts was also a struggle for some reason. Schedules often had to be corrected once or twice because they didn't match up with employees' availabilities. 
It's not the worst place to work, but I wouldn't recommend it. 

They tell you they'll pay well and fair, but it takes a lot of time until they'll notice your efforts. It has been fun working in a fast food shop in downtown with kindhearted people who do their best every day, although they're not paid enough. I wish they'll soon realize how poor the management is, they ignore your availabilities, your emails and your messages/calls. They ensured that this place is a high quality work environment with professionalism, which turns out wrong. No other professional places give the employees' paychecks late with missing hours. 

When I started working there, I had no experience in a restaurant or a fast paced environment but the managers, owners and other employees were very helpful. I would strongly suggest working at Chung Chun especially if it is your first job. The owners are very flexible when it comes to hours especially since they hire a lot of students. My team members were so friendly and I truly wish that I could’ve stayed but the job just wasn’t a perfect fit for me. This had nothing to do with my employers as they were the best bosses i could’ve asked for!

This is the worst place to ever work. On my first day, the manager cussed at me for a mistake that I did not even make and sent me to the back because I "wasn't doing a good job". I felt like I did not receive an ounce of respect from anyone working there. The working environment was even worse. The workers would get upset at every little thing and honestly it was very stressful to just be around them whenever they raged about a customer. I would not recommend this place to anyone. 

 One of the owners made a lot of inappropriate remarks on text and in person. This workplace is toxic. A lot of the employees are toxic as well, not knowing how to treat others with respect and scaring off new employees that come are training for the job. If you only care about a "good" pay because of the tips, then this is the place for you, but I would never recommend this place if you get easily overwhelmed. Over time, you start to see people's true colours. 

It's a very boring workplace most times you aren't really doing anything. The manager and owner are both not the best people. Will show favoritism towards people in their ethnicity and will treat others poorly. If you give them any notice (doesn't matter 2 weeks or 2 months) they will take you off the shifts completely. They believe approving your time off is granting you a bug favor and will leverage them to their need. Overall the worst place I have worked.

everyone spoke mandarin so it was hard to connect with others if you didn't. fast paced work environment, which was ok except we were not allowed breaks except if there was downtime, and even then we would need to leave our meals to take a customer and be doing prep in the back at the same time. also didn't pay for overtime.. i knew some co workers that worked almost everyday for 10+ hours

Coworkers were fun to work with and very helpful, though management were passive aggressive. The managers themselves are mostly nice and easy to approach. Overall, good for the experience but there are better places to be if you don’t have many availibilities.

The requirements of the head office are many and the daily work is busy. It is common for one person to have to do multiple jobs. In general, your work experience will depend greatly on whether the store owner is good.

the coworkers made the environment worth it! i worked here during the pandemic which unfortunately made it easy for customers to attack us due to the public safety measures, but management was very supportive throughout these situations.
