When I first applied for the position I applied for a Junior Operations position  and I though that I would receive full training over a few months with the hope of being promoted to operations manager in the future.

 From day one I was told I was the operations manger for the south looking after 10 contracts,  I have never run more than 4 contracts before.  I have managed P & L's & budgets but at unit level not ops level, But never at the level that I was thrown in to from day one of working for (Vertas) Churchill Catering.  But I decided that I would give it my best shot.

This came to a head when at interview I was told that I would receive a mileage rate but in truth this was not the rate and I was mis informed.  I did not receive any in-depth training for the role and was working on average about 12-14 hours a day.  My home life was affected.

I have tried to shout for help a few times via emails to senior people with Vertas (Churchill Catering) but it seems nobody was listening.

Management hugely lacked supportiveness and whenever issues were bought up you were confronted with nothing but attitude.  Despite leaving in November I have still not been paid my last 2 weeks worth of hours I worked which I have emailed about and was ignored! Unacceptable. When working for them the pay was near enough always wrong. I was once underpaid and when bought up they “solved” this issue which by that they really meant taking money out of my next  pay check like I wouldn’t notice the next pay day!  The employers we were located at would constantly try to catch us cleaners out and cause issues as if we couldn’t do our jobs and when management would be told they never had our backs. The company never had consideration for your second job and you always felt like you were looked down as “just a cleaner”. 

I work on the Aldi retail security for Churchill Security, The managers chain is poor with no one knowing what the other one says. If ring you up on your day off and ask you to cover, if you refuse they ask why you refuse to work. 

The way to deal with the staff is poor I am really not happy with them as a security firm. They would not let me take my holidays due so I have lost them all from last year. 

I always get payed wrong with missing payments, I feel I got no support for them as they don;t know retail security at all. I have worked in retail security for five years and they are the worse security firm know to me. 

My advise stay away from them.

The work was ok, but higher up management were a big problem, always a problem with pay you will hear this everyday. And you will hear this probably about pay on your first day with other employees, long hours, four days off sounds good but novelty wear's off, no benefits, flat rate, no sick pay even if a work related incident. Huge turnover of staff with some even leaving in hours of starting. Alot of employees leave over not receiving pay and working conditions, I would not recommend working here.

I was cleaning for a school, job started off ok and was happy, after awhile I started getting health conditions so had to take time off work, I felt like my area manager didn't really care about the situation, he just wanted me in work whether I was capable of not. I also received some texts from him which were in my opinion rather sarcastic and not professional. Your just a payroll number to them, they don't actually care about your wellbeing. I decided to leave because of my ongoing health conditions and because I feel like I wasn't appreciated.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Nothing - Shambles of a so called company to work for don't do it, there are plenty of other jobs out there

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Everything, I don't know how they can call themselves a company absolutely appalling 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Poor no communication lack if support, Rob your back off you

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Work for less then minimum wage in some cases

Was working for another company, when Churchill won the contract. A few weeks down the line, was told our hours would be cut but still had to do the same amount of work. Said it was impossible to keep the place at the high level of standards as it was, but they couldn’t care less. Funny how they’re always advertising for this place of work now. Not surprised.

Each day will consist of delivering and collecting ambulance vans and cars, sometimes we will move the local nhs trailer to events.

Gained knowledge on specific health equipment and how to operate a frontline vehicle, good people to work with.being on the roads exploring different locations

Awful company to work for, management are terrible, never reply to messages or phone calls, short staffed as they don't send cover and fob you off with excuses, no way worth the money for the amount of work expected. Don't send cleaning supplies either, just takes them from other sites if you are really desperate for them.
