I overall do like working here. Maybe speaking more english for people that don’t understand certain languages would feel more welcoming.  Often times I feel excluded and/or confused because they’re mostly speaking in their language to each other which is perfectly fine because that’s what they’re more comfortable with but I would personally feel less on the outside if they spoke more english. I get along with a few friendly co-workers there but not much. Most times I feel invisible as i’m sometimes ignored when greeting people or saying goodbye to a co-worker after their shift. Sometimes if i’m taking care of a customers order, other co-workers would just take it from me and start doing it themselves even though i’m already doing it. I’m not given much work hours either. Management doesn’t pay until a month passes and is kind of unorganized regarding My pay.  It’s pretty fast paced as well so if you can’t work under pressure I don’t recommend working here. Otherwise, go for it. 

A typical shift starts out with the preparation. If you are working in the morning then you are expected to prepare the following days preparations. As the cook, you have to count and process more chicken for the following day in the first couple of hours before the store actually opens. then later has to prepare chicken as the supply decreases. As a cashier, or pivot, you are expected to keep the dining clean and tidy. The management ensures the sales and targets are met. 
During the time spent here, I have learned a lot of skills, from communication skills and sale skills to office management paperwork skills. however the hardest part of this job was maintaining a functioning shift when it got busy, or if there was a shortage of staff.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Nothing much really... we got taken advantage of. They prioritize applicants and employees with LMIA first than their regular employees. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Dealing with co-workers who wont pull their own weight. Theyd laze around and the management allows them.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Toxic. Hard to manage. Everyone is dragging 3ach other down. Everyone also thinks theyre the manager and their wants and needs should be prioritized.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Work my butt off while my co-worker works at a snail's pace, and not get in trouble for it.

My experience at Church's Chicken has been enriching. I had the opportunity to contribute significantly to various projects, which helped me enhance my skills and grow professionally. The supportive work environment and collaborative culture encouraged me to challenge myself and achieve more. I gained valuable skills, such as problem-solving, team collaboration, and customer service expertise, which I believe will greatly benefit me in my future career endeavours. Overall, working at Church's Chicken has been a learning journey that I deeply appreciate, and I highly recommend it as a place to grow and thrive professionally.

Very unprofessional management at least at the Weston location. Didn’t respond to messages for weeks and treat employees unfairly. While working here I was never given that security you feel while you work somewhere and know you will 100% have a job the next week, I never felt that while working here. On top of that I was just removed from the company group chat with no warning, no message, nothing. They’re very unprofessional and very disorganized place and the management is terrible! One week they gave me no shifts, the next week the gave me none and then once again the next week no shifts and got kicked out of the group chat. 

A typical day at work includes cooking, packing, lifting, cleaning and work behind the counter.

Most employees working (including myself) are Filipino and I felt right at home because of the culture

Some managers can come off as quite mean and I've had experiences with micromanagers

Free Lunch is included and the food is good as long as it's prepared fresh.

Don't recommend working here at least not the weston location. Nobody knows what they are doing including the owners. Managers don't respond or pick up the phone and  give you shifts on days you asked off. Several people also got kicked out of the work group chat and never got ahold of the owner. They also are very cheap and not inclusive. Training is also horrible they don't teach you at all but expect you to know everything and not make any mistakes. Overall you don't feel comfortable in the environment and they treat you horribly. This place has potential however they need a lot of help. 

All I will say is that, the current branch I am working with has terrible management. They do not know how to properly assign shifts, and does not confirm with the worker on those said shifts. For example, when a worker has requested to take a medical leave for a set of specific days, it is confirmed, but yet when the worker is still healing after their medical appointment, they are requested to go back to work without confirmation from the worker who is still on requested and granted leave.

Nothing is better working for Churchs Chicken working for them for 25 years

Everything is stressful without benefits

It is not a safe environment. It don’t matter what time of the day

Dealing and solving problems everyday with customers

Its easy to work for more hours if the working environment is healthy and cooperative. Its been 6 months i am working in factories and at the restaurant, i met with different people some with positive attitude some with negative attitude. Its easy when we have a good company while working. The hardest part of the job is when you have a bad company like when other person don't talk and communicate with you.
