What is the best part of working at the company?
Perfect for those who want to work in a fast paced environment. I learned a lot of things on the go, especially in terms of small everyday tasks you wouldn't think of until you need them.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
In my personal experience, it can sometimes be information overload, especially during the week of summer staff training. The other most stressful part is the combination of the heat, busy schedule, and slight lack of staff throughout the final 3 weeks of the summer - but that's more of a situational overwhelm rather than the company/leadership doing anything poorly.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It changes year to year based on who is in leadership in each of the areas/sections. When I worked there it was a very positive culture, especially at the barn - very supportive, geared towards growth and honesty-based communication. I always really appreciated the culture when it came to the horses - we were to assume that when a horse was "acting out" or "misbehaving" that it was due to pain in some form. The goal is to find out what pain they're feeling and work towards a positive solution, rather than punish them or talk negatively about them.

A typical day would be working outside in the summer heat to help the kitchen prepare for lunch for the campers, ourselves and staff, cleaning certain areas and work places, enjoying time with campers, and enjoying ourselves during small activities with each other.
I learned that it isn’t an easy job to work with people and the outdoors, but it certainly is worth it.
The higher ups and staff in charge of us were strict but very nice, and helped us better our performance and teach us necessary skills in the workplace.
The hardest part was physical labour, digging very large plants out of the ground and placing them miles away (relocating lovely plants to areas where they would be most seen and admired), and cleaning everything to be spotless every single day after people use.
The most enjoyable part of the job was nonetheless everything. I met very nice people, learned necessary skills for the workplace, maintained in healthy physical shape, and enjoyed my work there.

A typical day at work would consist of waking up at 7:00 am to be at a worship meeting at 7:30. Then you would head back to where you need to work for the work (your job rotates, one week you might be a camp leader, the next you might be in the kitchen) then you would do what people ask you to do. I definatley learned how to handle really delicate people in really hard walks of life, there are lots of kids coming from really nasty home situations and it can be really hard to deal with a difficult kid who comes from a difficult past. The Co-workers are great too! super nice and friendly! The hardest part of the job would be dealing with kids who don't want to be there who don't want to hear what you have to say. The most enjoyable part is definately the little moments you have with the kids where they really connect with you and you manage to instil a little bit of knowledge that you hope they remember you.

it was an excellent place to work- Sadly the one I worked at was closed down. Being a camp counselor, group leader, leader of Arts and Crafts was very exciting. It was my first job and it was extremely rewarding. Working here was what solidified my desire to work with children in a teaching capacity. It was a tight knit community. You had the opportunity to work with children from many different backgrounds (often unfortunate ones). The campers lived for their one week at camp. You were required to be as excited for the first week as the last, as the daily activities were on rotation each day for each week. I had the opportunity to work in the kitchen as well as being an assistant counselor and a recreation staff. With bonfires each night and Christmas in July, Banquets on Friday's it was a joy to work here for as long as I could.

A typical day would be leading the campers to the scheduled activities, encouraging participation in all programs, leading cabin devotions, and constantly building relationships with campers.

I learned a lot about working with a variety of children/youth. I learned a lot about different areas of camp such as horses, high ropes and archery.

The management team were great, it was nice because they were my friends as well as my supervisors. I was able to have fun with them which helped me to respect them. My co-workers were also my friends, I had worked in most of them for many years. The whole team there was a giant family.

The most enjoyable part of the job was working with the children or youth, it is because of this job that I decided to become a child and youth worker.

On any typical day, as a camp counsellor, you'd supervise campers (age 6-14), and escort them to activities, you'd assist in specialized staff in running the activity (horse riding, wall climbing, swimming, etc) .  After the regular daytime activities came to a close, you'd participate in a camp-wide activity, after which the campers would have free time before a campfire. 

Management is easy to work with, seeing as they're doing nearly the same job, but with a few extra responsibilities.  

The hardest part of the job was uncooperative campers, but at the same time, helping them move past their current problems was also one of the more enjoyable aspects of the job.

Another part of the job I enjoyed was the religious aspects of the camp, such as the nightly campfire (the camp being a Christian camp) where we would teach the campers that they are worth being loved, among other things.

Terrible place to work! Up early in the kitchen every morning, almost no time to go outside, and for only 50 bucks a week in pay. Not to mention the favriotisim!! If you went to the directors church you got the good jobs like a cousolor and actully got to spend time doing fun activities with the kids but if you came from an outside church you were made to work in the kitchen all day everyday, in the end had to go home early because I couldnt take the unfair work environment anymore. Circle square ranch severn bridge was the worst place I've ever worked! It made me feel like I didnt matter as a human.

As a religious based summer camp for youth, Circle Square offers a lot of opportunity to young people in regards to personal development, community building, and discoveries of religious faith. It is rewarding as an employee to see the children learn and grow and to build intimate working relationships with the other councillors. However, as a small organization, volunteer work is heavily encouraged and salaries are very small. Professional and personal growth is guaranteed, but for the sake of monetary gain, there isn't a lot in respect to being an employee.
