Working as a billing clerk at Clarke requires several things:

First, a typical day begins by checking email. Often I resolve any billing issues from our OS & D department and cover those before tackling the main billing queue.

Second, you need to be quick with a keyboard. Everyone has approximately 20 minutes to bill each load that comes in their queue so speed--and accuracy--are essential.

Third, knowledge of Canadian geography is required. A lot of accounts are based on the direction in which they are going as this affects rates. 

I learned a lot about Canadian geography and significantly increased my typing speed.

Management is relatively minimal as you are expected to function as a self-starter, which is fine for someone such as myself.

The most enjoyable part is probably the flexible hours and team-like environment.

Not much weather delays contribute  to making delivery  on time for reloads

Treated like family never pushed  into something your not comfortable  with
Always have dispatch  on speed dial and they alway answer the phone regardless  of time

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Load drive sleep drive sleep drive unload usually  three days driving in a row then reload

A place I called home, loved the people and the work ethics.  Great clients to deal with always co-operative.  However the micro managing and favoritism was unbearable.  Working in the transportation business is hectic enough trying to keep things moving smoothly and without interruption, but at times the job became challenging due to having to deal with micro managers and their unprofessionalism.  Too focused on peoples personal habits rather than their professional experience.

Credit Analysis is very clerical and involves printing out Dunn and Bradstreet reports and presenting the findings to the manager for approval. There is some soft collections involved but often times, the collections supervisor has a set of rules to govern each account so not much room to form a relationship with customers

Our business has decreased in recent years and lacks the challenges to keep busy and engaged throughout the day. Management has changed over the years as the company now falls under the TransForce umbrella. We are now working with similar companies that were once competitors. The president of the company and eastern plus western vice presidents have left the company as well as some upper management in the east.

busy everyday, we start with the meeting, check forklift safety, get orders of file to work on from shift supervisor, then start loading or unloading trucks. work place culture is friendly environment, management not good MANAGER, HARDEST PART WAS TO FIND THE product that your are suppose to load as it was a cross dock. enjoyable part was loading truck after fing=ding the product on the dock floor.

Just do your job and there will be no stress.

worked my butt off for the company had poor management people wrecking accounts company losing accounts people stealing ended up catching few people on cam stealing they got fired i got laid off before all this with few other good workers lost my  Seniority with few other good workers.

This is a good company to Make money and get in get out type of environment. 
Don’t really expect to make friendships or have transparency between yourself and staff. Job security or growth is not there but the company is very professional. People are nice to your face.  Great company for someone who is just there to do their job and go home 

Don't work here. Very disorganized, poor work culture. Management lacks direction and are very rude and condescending. They will not pay your fairly and seemed biased towards promoting based on..."physical appeal".
