Co-op Wine Spirits Beer

When I began working I loved the job because it was something new. However after the first month or two I realized it was not an ideal job. I never got the training I needed until I was about 6 months in but the management didn’t care. My manager was barely at the store either went home early or was always on vacation. The environment was overall toxic there was only two people I could come to and feel comfortable talking to. The staff was overall lazy. There would be no recognition to those who actually did their job. The store was very dependant on one person who did everyone else’s job. The shifts were not equal always changing and which we were never told but still expected to come in. The manager was very bias with certain employees. My overall experience was not good whatsoever. 

Co-op Wines Spirits Beer was a good company to work for but there has been a great deal of change due to the economy in Alberta and due to this there has had to be cut backs that start at the top. 
Coop was very well run and have objectives that have made me not just understand and be aware if the internal workings of a large company but also be aware of the local working of business to be competitive in a very tough customer service industry.

I found that working for coop wines spirits beer was a very disorganized company, with a lot of politics. Allowing the people who have been with the company many years to succeed and grow, while the new employees have absolutely no chance to succeed and grow within the company. You get paid absolutely nothing for having too much responsibility. And nothing is ever good enough. Would not recommend working for this company.

If you feel like being nostalgic about the 1980's, definitely work here. Terrible pay, no room for advancement, very repetitive and physically demanding work. They care about money not people.

Wage capped for 4 years due to new union agreement,  union sucks and works more for the company than the employees,  safety is non existent and the workload for pay is trash and the company gouges customers to make profit without paying living wages but if you're lucky you'll get a free muffin coupon.  

Workplace culture was perfect with the right people, management was up and down, some great people to work for, some terrible. The only problem is with the company structure itself. Terrible company and upper management, but amazing employees and store level management.

Amazing people all around friendly customers friendly staff  favorite place to work, they always let you challenge yourself and take steps forward if you want they don't hold you back and they help you progress 

Co-op was a very busy liquor store, especially busy during Christmas season. Great co-workers, and knowledgeable manager. learnt a lot about the industry working here, had a lot of product most liquor store don't have.

Its a really nice place to work, managers try their best to respect schedule requests. Good if youre in school looking for part time work. Though feels like all workplaces where better performance=more responsibility+same pay

Good place to meet all kinds of people, both coworkers and customers. Hours are not guaranteed, no benefits unless you're full time which is hard to get. Not too bad of a place to work and learn about product knowledge
