-Not suitable for structured or precise professionals. -Management is inept. -Extremely high staff turnovers -Lack of resources. - Lack of confidence from long time staff in leadership, hence leading to gossip and mutiny. -Lack of technology that the program is actually based on (does not actually implement ISTEAM) mainly children using dated technological software and running around complaining that they're bored. - Hard task to actually delegate and implement new guidelines unless you are toxic. - The children are high risk at one particular location in the SE; they constantly go unaccounted for and often times missing. - Lack of professional training at all levels. - A lot of saleswomen as managers so think before you accept any proposals pertaining to your position. - You are not supported. Not an empowering company, very disappointing. Be mindful and observe. -Enables unprofessionalism and a toxic work environment. -Poor attitude and lack of respect from superiors, extremely disingenuous personalities and characters. -Lack of follow through with program plans. Educators are short-sighted and lazy in their approach. - Highly emotional and disrespectful coworkers. -Inappropriate child cohorts; too many children with neurodiverse issues that are not properly supported, as the program is not equipped to deal with behavioural problems. -Too many children on the autism spectrum that either goes undiagnosed or placed in the program. -Stressful environment for people of colour. Managers are culturally tone deaf. -Overall problematical.
Advice to Management
-My advice for a complete overhaul or managerial staff. It’s time. - My advice to the chief of staff is to implement actual processes and procedures that work. -Handling of problematic staff is to simply have a no tolerance policy. Stop enabling bullies. -Implement a more sound and efficient training program in monthly intervals. - Acquire appropriate budget spending practices.

I started at Coded Minds as an instructor. Immediately I could feel that it was a good place to be. Not only I was exposed to several different aspects of the company, from corporate meetings to regular teaching, but I also often found myself giving people ideas and taking lead on projects. 

Due to my go-get behaviour, my ascension was fast. I was first promoted to a manager and a few months later to head of operations.

As a head of operations, I try to keep an open-door policy for everyone, promote collaboration and reward people who want to take initiative and go the extra mile.

Every staff member has my contact information and I try to make myself available as much as I can.

I even created several opportunities for staff to interact and showcase their talents. Staff can write articles for Coded Minds Blog, participate in our Youtube Videos or Podcast, join our social committee, learn from our weekly tech training or even be part of this awesome project I started called Learn and Lead, which trains people to become leaders inside the company.

But I do not want to stop there. I am often looking for more opportunities to add value to staff.


Coded Minds has been a fantastic place for professional growth. I started as a Classroom Teacher and was promoted to Program Manager, which reflects the company’s commitment to developing its team members.

The management is supportive, approachable, and encourages new ideas and innovation. I also appreciate the strong focus on cultural diversity, educator well-being, and both professional and personal growth. It’s a positive and inclusive workplace where employees feel valued, supported, and empowered to succeed.

I worked part-time there during summer camps, and oh boy, what an experience!
The pay was sweet, the hours flexible and the job itself very fun!

I had 2 whole weeks of training where I provided several ideas on what we could do during summer camps (I have experience in the field, attending as a child and working part-time). My ideas were glorified, used and I received a lot of praise for them.

Most importantly, when my camp team went off-script, our supervisor would not get mad at us! As he said himself "as long as the kids were having fun and learning, feel free to change the script".

Working at Coded Minds was great! Really recommend the company.

Been hired as an educator substitute and once the opportunity came, they hired me immediately. In every program I worked as a substitute, I felt embraced by staff and management and supervisors always showed they cared about me. Now that I am an educator in the program, I am being stimulated to work at my pace, having fun and engaging with children to the best of my abilities. 

I cant lie, I am having a blast and Coded Minds has definitely stepped up to make me feel like this! I didn't have any childcare education and they provided me with the level 1 course and are willing to pay for my level 2, which is super impressive. 

I worked for Coded Minds from 2018 to 2020 and I only left because I had to move to BC. 

Compared to my current workplace, Coded Minds is a paradise. Here's a non-extensive list of things that I miss from Coded Minds:
- The positive environment everyone created
- Co-workers being super understanding and flexible with sick days
- The way I was encouraged to express and try my programing ideas (I have an art background, so my programming was all about painting and music and I was always encouraged to do so)
- How approachable management is
- The flexible hours
- I was treated like a human being
- The children (of course)

I don't know what to say except this company's management team is not honest.  They will tell you that you are doing a good job all the while having bad intentions.  They do not want to help you or train you or give you constructive criticism when you are falling short on something (which can happen to anyone).  They just sit back and judge you waiting for you to make a mistake.  Instead of helping you use it as an opportunity of growth, they'll let you go but still tell you that you are doing a good job.  Terrible training and even worse environment.  They'll never tell you the truth and never help you to grow.  

management is toxic and they play favorites.  They twist their words around and cherry pick what you say. You can work your fingers to the bone but if you are not a 'yes' person, you'll be fired.  No question about it.  If you need to work here, I will offer you some advice: keep your head down, always tell them everything is great, and never ask for help or support.  It is viewed as a sign of weakness.  They are unreliable and very sneaky.  They are conspicuous, closed-minded, and will throw you under the bus at any given moment.  

A great way to start working with kids. There are many locations to choose from but that's difficult if you catch the bus sometimes.
Management arent as supportive as they claim. Say one thing but do another between them all. Saw one shout at a kid and be way over the top over something small. If I'd done that, I'd have been written up. But they protect each other.
They are poorly organized and always hiring because people get fired quick or don't want to stay because they can't keep up with the demands always changing from above. 
Lots of stress, not enough pay to make it okay. 
Good place for kids to have fun though.
