A typical day at work was getting in to get the class projects organized prior to student arrival.Instructing individuals with varied abilities the proper procedures to ensure safe handling and finished product were priority.My management gave me ample time and resources to accomplish this. My co-workers were all helpful in any way needed. The hardest part of my job was not seeing a student applying his or herself when I knew they could! The most enjoyable part was at the end of the block they students passed and thanked me for helping them through the process!

Do not waste your time applying for jobs with this organization. Their recruitment process is a complete joke.

They have no formal interview process, and spend more time talking about their organization than they do giving a candidate a chance to express how they'd be a good fit for the job.

And they have a very strong tendency to pass over men for junior and mid level position, in favour of attractive women, with male supervisors of course.

Besides, who'd want to an island in the middle of nowhere, where the majority of its schools are in remote little villages or towns with nothing to do, and nowhere to go for hundreds of kilometres.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Excellent compensation package, an inclusive atmosphere, opportunities for advancement in my field (education) and a general spirit of camaraderie. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Students, but only sometimes. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Supportive, fun, inclusive, like an extended family.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Teaching classes, having coffee with colleagues, preparing materials for handouts and lessons, planning my classes, meeting with students.

When I first started working there it was great. But after so long, the toxic traits of management became obvious. Staff were at each other and the manager had favourites. I was treated as person to fill an open spot and nothing more. Empty promises/promotion. Given a promotion of increase work load and title but no increase in pay or recognition. The manager is two faced and passively aggressive! 

Generally an interesting and focused work environment. Management was good and encouraged teachers to give of their best, co-workers were very friendly and accommodating. I leaned to adapt in different environments but the hardest part was the winter time, the cold temperatures out in Labrador. The best part was having a totally different setting to live and work and learn new things and new people.

Current position: A typical day at work involves every day clerical duties. Most of the work is very repetitive. 

I have learned how to use company software, improved skills in Microsoft office programs, and have experience with working as a team.

The most enjoyable part of the job is working with the wonderful people in the office.

Nice work environment. As instructor, you can use so many shop features and equipment to ensure a regeneratine learning enviroment.  The lesson plans could be a little better laid out but over all accessible. I have no problem recommending someone to accept a position with the college but with a couple caution of expectations not to be discussed here 

I was an instructor there for 6 years, it was very stressful lacking in supports for mental illness. I’m saying so it as been since 2011 was my last year. That was case and everyone is different. As for a learning center for students it up there with all colleges in Canada.

This was an awesome experience.  I completed my four week work term at this place and would highly recommend this as a great place to work.  Unfortunately, they were not hiring at the time I completed this work term.  While there I worked in the accounts payable department and found this to be a very fast paced area.  I enjoyed every minute of it.
