What is the best part of working at the company?
The best part of being a supervisor is leading a team and helping them succeed. You guide others, solve problems, and keep work running smoothly. It builds confidence, leadership, and communication skills. You also gain trust from management and feel proud when your team performs well and achieves goals together.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The part of being a supervisor helps you grow and improve. Handling responsibilities, solving problems, and managing a team builds strong skills. Even under pressure, you learn to stay calm and make good decisions. These experiences increase confidence and make you a better leader over time.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work environment and culture at this company is friendly, supportive, and team-focused. Employees respect each other and help one another to complete tasks. Communication is open, and everyone feels comfortable sharing ideas. The workplace is positive, where people feel valued and motivated. It also supports learning, growth, and work-life balance.

A typical day at work is arriving on time if not 15 mins early.  Going in to the home or facility and starting morning care.  Shower  on shower day.  Medications for client.  If time specific then make sure meds on time.  Have a very positive attitude about the day, about the mood, about your client!   Management is always spoken about in a very positive way and any questions must be passed along to office.  I enjoy working in peoples homes or facilities and also hospital environment.  The hardest part of the job would be when the people come to end of life.  I enjoy spending this time with the client as they are in need of compassion and straight talk and care.  The most enjoyable part of my job is the interaction and care that I can offer the client.  I have learned to care but not to overcare for the client.  When you care too much it can basically cause a caregiver to hit a brick wall and cause the caregiver to basically collapse.  So if have learned  anything,  I have learned to care about my clients but not fall in love.

I worked at CK for almost two years both in the office and as a companion and it was one of the worst years of my life. Working at Comfort Keepers honestly put me into therapy as the work environment was much too stressful and toxic to be in. The office staff for the most part were extremely rude to all other staff members and even customers as the management could apparently do no wrong. There were many days where the office was filled with drama and yelling because of simple mistakes or communications. Management also gets mad at their workers for being on their phones which is fair but at the same time the management is sending and receiving inappropriate messages while on the clock. 

Job security is rough as if you’re not perfect they will fire you right away or you will get scolded for your performance. Raises are rarely given out and bonuses are nonexistent. Working hours are inconsistent as people cancel or the office messes up and doesn’t pay you for your work. Plus they will ask you to work extra hours unpaid if needed. 

I worked for comfort keepers for almost a year and through out the course of my employment I had one performance review with no mention of a wage increase. I was payed very poorly for the field of work,  even after completing my full hca registration. When I gave availability of monday- Friday they were concerned and guilt tripped me into giving up my weekends in order to fill shifts. The scheduling was incredibly frustrating and unorganized I would get calls from 3 seperate people about the same shift within the span of an hour and would get guilt tripped into taking shifts when I was burnt out. On top of all of this after my last client went to long term care I heard nothing from them regarding a new client even after several phone calls and leaving messages they never contacted me, it has been 3 months since my last shift.

Working with different people and assisting them in their daily living so they can have a happy productive life

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
nothing was really stressful except when you became short on hours sometimes, you are not promised full time shifts as to the nature  and flexibility of the business

It is a good environment, the admin staff was friendly and helpful, and easy to talk to

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Cleaning, house chores, cooking, companionship, guidance etc

The type of work I did at Comfort Keepers had to be one of the most satisfying and personally gratifying work I have ever done anywhere.
Just knowing that I was helping someone in terms of their daily living made such a difference for me.
A typical day at work could involve doing errands, grocery shopping, light housekeeping/cooking and even bathing and dressing the client.
My co-workers were just lovely. The most enjoyable part of the job was meeting such lovely people and the satisfaction I felt.
The hardest part of the job was mainly the traffic I had to sometimes endure.

The office staff is always welcoming and always offer a relaxing and inclusive work environment. Working as a summer student I would assist with office tasks such as answering calls, directing clients, as well as helping with interviews and orientations. Being with this company allowed me to grow my skills as an administrative assistant and learn more about the Senior Care environment. The staff at Comfort Keepers cares greatly about their clients and always makes sure that everyone is receiving the best care possible. The office staff at Comfort Keepers offers free PPE to all caregivers and is always doing their part to keep everyone safe during the Pandemic. 

The owner is a gem. He's very friendly and down to earth and takes time to get to know both staff and clients. He gives his work a personal touch and is very well regarded in the community.
 The office staff are excellent, kind caring and dedicated to their work. They make every effort to match employees with suitable clients.
 The business is very efficient and well managed. I enjoyed my time with Comfort Keepers very much and was offered opportunities to work in several different aspects of the company. I would and have recommend them as employers.

Keeping individuals engaged in life mentally ,emotionally ,physically and socially is what we do at Comfort keepers. It gives our clients a more healthy and meaningful quality of life. For our employees it is a feel good sensation knowing the smiles  they bring to our client and their families. That is by far the most enjoyable part of the job .However the hardest part of the job is dealing with clients passing especially after serving them for an extensive period.

Upper management are kind and easy to talk to. Feel like what I have to say is actually heard and respected. Have never been asked to do/say something I felt was unethical or disagreed with (which can be a huge issue in health care!). Company genuinely cares about their clients and staff and that shows. Can have open collaborative conversations with upper management and discuss something if concerned or difference of opinion; no "because I said so" mentality. Good pay. Hours can be inconsistent but are really accommodating regarding having multiple employers and try to fill up work days
