Management present in a way to engage your compassion and empathy for your community and will use every last drop you have to give. So much lip service to the shared values and being a community that serves the community but their values are applied on a "case by case" basis. They employ no trauma informed principals even while signaling they want to move in that direction.  My experience was to devote years of dedicated passion and service, reach out for help in a situation with a manager and then be systematically removed from my position with an appalling lack of transparency and compassion. It is a hard way to learn that as an employee who believed the message, I held no value to them once they decided so. I loved this organization outloud for many years and they destroyed a trust one should easily have for a community organization that says all of the right things about wanting to build and support their community. I would not recommend anybody to put themselves in a position to experience this. I have seen other employees leave, or be dismissed, because of how they were treated by designed policies and unexpected changes to their role with little compassion on the real world effects on people they say they value; and I honestly didn't think it would happen to me. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
This company is only interested in the hours that they can charge their clients. PSW's are over whelmed, given no travel time, exposed yo dangerous work environments that are simply ignored by staff and supervisors. All in all it a terrible place to work. The turn over rate is excessive. And no investment goes into the home care staff. If you have a problem with any level of management you will be dismissed with trumped up rationale.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Hours crammed together no breaks.  So that the company can bill the government for all hours. Cancelations are frequent and reschedules occur without notification.  

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Terrible the management and supervising staff are complacent and all stand in line to austrisize the psw staff. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Hurried. Pushed. The staff are not helpful and there is no technical support for work applications.

I took a 7 week stress leave due to personal medical issues as well as a medical issue with my daughter-The work atmosphere at the CCD office where I was employed had gone through so many changes, I could barely keep a grip on the over abundance of workload I was continuing to have put on me. I felt like I was struggling to stay above water. I was never one to complain or leave coworkers (in my case-one) without support, but I was at the end of my rope. I was sick of the unfairness and lack of management care. This rose through all ranks. When I returned to my position, all of my work and personal possessions had been removed from my office and I was left feeling totally unworthy as an employee. Needless to say I resigned almost immediately. During my exit interview the new HR employee told me my leave was “quite a long time off”, In my opinion, not only was that unprofessional of her in her position, but also a blatant disregard of a major element of what CCD is to stand for-Supporting others.

Managers and uppers management don’t care about their employee and break the  rights of employees more then often. They cut clients hours short they don’t give the clients what they have qualified for from the government  They ignore staffs requests for the clients. They ignore clients complaints and never adhere to clients rights or their dignity. To many managers that have no experience working with elderly in healthcare  They should pay the healthcare workers more money and get rid of 75% of upper management and office workers  To driven on making money for themselves then for the taking care of their clients wants and needs

We had almost no training on the positions. Changes were being made and they tried to make it look like they were being "transparent" but had no intentions of it.  I was told that I was "finally" dealing with things that had been asked to be dealt with for 3+ years.  I could not handle my hands being tied and the office politics any longer so I needed to leave the agency. They hire based on pieces of paper, not actual knowledge. Management would rather never admit to being wrong.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The clients was the best part of working in the community. Each with their own story, needs and experiences made it a joy to get out there and meet and learn and share with them.  For many we are their window to the outside world and I enjoying being that light for my clients.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The most stressful part was not being provided sufficient travel time to get to each client safely.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
currently I do not know. My understanding it has changed quite a bit.

I volunteered   with this company, They were a wonderful  company. Helped me to improve my work ethics. The management were suberb and very friendly.When I joined the company, I was given an orientation. My job entailed calling clients of the organization to inquire about their health and to book transportation for all their scheduled appointments. This was very interestin, and i met many of the clients on the job.

I struggled with the stress of the job, disorganization and lack of communication from upper management. Felt like no one worked as a team and was hard to build connections. Clients weren’t always the nicest and made for stressful days and lack of support from management. 
Work load felt impossible sometimes and no proper training. Different departments of the job wouldn’t know of staff in another department creating a divide in the company. 
Lack of support and lack of training made it very stressful. 

As with most PSW positions it’s a lot of rushing around picking up slack. I was a driver for clients who needed a wheelchair to bring to doctor appointments and home from hospital. CCD wanted to save money by training us on wheelchair accessible vans so they didn’t have to pay accessible taxi. I didn’t have a choice I didn’t make more money it was stressful and very heavy work and they didn’t care about my safety or the clients safety. 

I do not have a typical day of work, every day is different. When you would with vulnerable people inn the community you never really know what will come up that day. Great workplace, lots of support from management which helps especially when dealing with difficult situations. 
My job is very rewarding and can be difficult at times. I always try my best to support my clients in any way that I can.
