I’ve been working as a Traffic Control Person for Complete Utility Contractors for a while now and it has been a rewarding experience. The company is well-organized and prioritizes safety on all job sites, which is crucial in this line of work. The crews treat everyone fairly and like a family. :)

The management team is approachable and ensures we have the proper training and equipment to perform our jobs effectively. They emphasize teamwork, and I’ve always felt supported by my colleagues and supervisors. Communication is clear, and any concerns are addressed promptly.

One thing I appreciate is their dedication to maintaining a positive work environment. The schedules are fair, and they understand the importance of work-life balance. They also provide opportunities for growth, so if you’re looking to advance in civil construction, this is a great place to start.

Overall, I’m proud to be part of a company that values its employees and takes pride in delivering high-quality work in the construction industry.

There is essentially no training provided for this role—you are expected to figure everything out on your own from day one. You are also expected to work evenings, weekends, and to be available at all times, answering your work phone and emails regardless of hours.
Despite the title, this position is far from an actual dispatching role. During the interview process, it is presented as a dispatch position, but once you start, you are given a new job description that is much closer to operations management, again with zero training or support.
Be aware that what is advertised and discussed in the interview does not match the reality of the job. If you are specifically looking for a dispatching role or a position with structure and training, this is not it. There is very high staff turn over and no one seems to know how to do their job.

My overall experience at this company was very disappointing. There was little structured training, and expectations were often unclear, which made it difficult to succeed. I did not feel properly supported as a new hire.

Work hours were unpredictable, and maintaining work-life balance was challenging. Break times and scheduling did not always feel consistent or fair.

I also had concerns about workplace organization and safety. In my experience, safety procedures were not always clearly communicated or consistently enforced, which made me feel uneasy at times.

Additionally, I experienced situations that felt unfair and lacking in inclusivity. I believe the company would benefit from improving leadership communication, strengthening safety practices, and fostering a more respectful and supportive workplace culture.

I have nothing but positive things to say about Complete Utility Contractors.  The work culture is excellent. Employees help each other out which makes for a good working environment. My experience with management has been excellent; they have been very supportive and are always looking at ways to improve the business. Sometimes there are long days but the paychecks are great!

First company I’ve ever worked for where they deduct you time for lunch breaks. Lots of work but not a full-filling job. Not enough training for advancement & the foreman hardly know what they are doing & junior members are supposed to come up with their own solutions. Hoards of people come & quit after a few weeks for good reason. Best to look for work elsewhere...

I love coming to work. The people here are my family. We always work together to ensure the day to day operations are met with excellence. Communication and leadership always bring us to the top. I have grown so much in my personal life and have been given several opportunities to excel in my career.

Disorganized, unprofessional wont address safety issues, spend more time fixing defiencies than actually doing the work right first time, they defenitely like their short cuts and out of all the comoanies i worked for they the worst 

Good guys on the ground but some foreman and superintendents were extremely unprofessional, swearing over the radio over an incorrectly parked car for example. Always seemed a bit disorganized on the ground, to many people in charge.  

CUC is a fast-paced company to work for and a lot of fun if you are a go-getter. They have a lot of in-house capability and some very experienced employees. There is lots of opportunity in the company which is motivating! The company has a "small company" feel and no corporate smoke and mirrors.
