As an employee of Maple Park Lodge, I can say from first hand experience that I love my job and I love where I work. Our palliative care team works hard to ensure residents (as well as their family members)  have as many comforts as possible, and they regular hold fundraisers in the building. Our secure unit is staffed with some of the most kind, patient and dedicated staff I’ve ever seen; they work tirelessly to promote an environment where residents feel safe and happy; but it doesnt stop there. All home areas at Maple Park Lodge are geared to providing whatever level of care our residents require based on their own personal needs, and these psws, nurses, dietary, etc go above and beyond to make life for our residents as happy and comfortable as possible.  Maple Park Lodge is more than just a place of employment for me; we as a building are a family. All of our staff works hard to be a team of success in all departments (nursing, dietary, management, recreation,etc). We work together to provide the best life possible for our residents; they are more to us than just another person to take care of when we come to work, we care deeply for them. I hope anyone reading this will take it to heart, this is a long term facility that cares about its residents and its staff.

Billings court was a great place to work I have been there for 3 years without a problem, until the last 7 months when new management came in  and made the whole working experience awful for me. I got hurt really bad a d they didn't believe me, I needed time off because I wasn't well and they needed to know exactly why and made it extremely hard to come back even with a doctor's note. The management was very rude to us, I didn't feel like we were supported as much as we could have been. I have been doing this job for 17 years and the new management couldn't accommodate  me which is really upsetting. Before 7 months ago I had never been in trouble and had more tasks and more trust from management and then with new management it seemed like every day I was being called down and in trouble for something I didn't do. I would have recommended Billings Court highly to another person and told them to definitely come work here but not at the moment it's a toxic place to work. Hopefully it gets better in the future.



I took on the job working steady midnight,  it was a sister to another building that I was working for at the time and was able to move into the new building,working night you work alone with a RN in the building if you need her/him  I filed papers read about every client that came into my area. if anyone during the night I would talk with them get them a snack or drink help them with the bad dreams  some morning I would help get some dress  I cleaned the wheel chairs and walker I work and help run a floor to myself and now and then i help train new staff members we had time for in services that the building would set up  so we were always being trained  I would like to say that I was good with my floor and meeting the new clients and getting to kow each and every one

I work at maple park lodge since the place open in 2003 and after reading some review here I had to put my in because my experience is completely different great nurses and psw and management specially the administrator allways on top of things if you complaint about something she deal with the situation right away I had work in every floor at maple years at each floor so I have work with almost everyone there ALL CARING WONDERFUL PEOPLE READY TO HELP I presently work at the secure unit and I can tell you everyone working there respet and love the residentes we laugh with them we cry with them we see these people everyday spend more time with them than our own family how not to love them we have so much fun with them singing dancing and caring for them  so that’s why I was so surprised with some of the review here

I began working here with high expectations of trying to provide the best personal care for individuals in this nursing home. After about a month I realized that the organization does not assist it's staff or the seniors by insuring there is adequate staffing at all times . Working in this environment with no air conditioning the temperatures reached very uncomfortable conditions in the summer and the staff were at most times physically ill from heat exhaustion. Most individuals in our care were in frail condition or suffered dementia /mental health with aggressive disorders in which many staff did not receive either adequate training or support to handle the situations at hand as they were working short staffed.

Lovely place to work. Well managed. Lots of opportunity for overtime. They will even book extra staff some days to make up for being short on other days. Very tight knit (small town) so there can be some drama at times with the staff but you see that everywhere. Families are mostly lovely with a only a few exceptions. Overall a really great team and positive place to work. I wish I could have stayed there in a permanent position but there were none available. Would go back in a heartbeat.

A typical day at Millennium when I was a consolidating student was receiving TOA from RN/RPN in order to safely care for my residence through out my shift and made sure that the residence received all their scheduled medication in a timely manner. As a student I had an opportunity to work with all disciplinary team to provide better care for all the residents.Time management is a key when it comes to proving care for all the residents.The most enjoyable part of the job is to see that every single resident is treated fairly and equal, and also as a student I was was able to advocate for them when I saw a need of change to better the care of a residents.

The building is very nice and clean and presents very well to outsiders. There are many good PSWS and Nurses at MPL however the bullying in this workplace is intolerable. Management is well aware of the bullying yet fail to hold these people accountable for their actions. Even sadder is the way some residents are treated on the secure unit. These people do not have a voice to report the rude treatment and comments they’re subjected to so it continues to go unchecked. Once again there are many wonderful care providers at MPL unfortunately the bully’s overshadow the good examples set by others.

A typical day at work would be a lot of one on one with residents and coworkers which include: good listening skills, being able to understand their needs and provide for them when asked, always be positive and being energetic  is key because it's never a dull moment working at Valley park lodge. My co-workers were one of the many reasons why I liked it their so much my manager was firm but also such a fun person to be around when the time was right. All together I loved  everything about my job at valley park lodge I grew as a person and had life changing moments that I'll never forget.

From the moment I started my role at Conmed I knew it was unique. The culture is absolutely toxic, and people are treated vastly different from one another. There are some long standing managers who should have been moved along a long time ago, and only a couple of people who have any real say in the day to day. The owner doesn't care, he goes years without visiting and the majority of staff wouldn't know his face.  Conmed is a cash cow for the owner, and the way it is run doesn't hide that. Most of the good staff will work for the title and experience then move onto something better.
