What is the best part of working at the company?
In clinic staff and the benefits. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
I would like to share my feedback regarding the management and work environment at this company. The line manager in charge lacks experience and knowledge about the business, which has resulted in subpar training and development opportunities. Additionally, there is a concerning issue of favoritism, as the manager seems oblivious to the realities of the workplace.

Furthermore, the team leader exhibits bullying behavior and engages in gossip, creating a toxic atmosphere. It is disheartening to witness their efforts to eliminate anyone they perceive as a threat. This particular area of the company does not align with the overall reputation of excellence that the company supposedly upholds.

I strongly believe that significant changes in management are necessary for this company to improve. Until these changes are made, I would advise individuals to steer clear of this company. It is worth noting that the team leader's inappropriate questioning of candidates' age during interviews raises concerns about potential discrimination, which may be in violation of human rights principles.

Overall, I hope that the company takes these issues seriously and takes appropriate action to rectify them.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The overall morale within the company is noticeably low, with a prevalent sense of self-interest among employees. The work environment lacks motivation and fails to inspire individuals. Unfortunately, the general sentiment is that nobody truly enjoys coming to work. The high levels of stress experienced by employees are exacerbated by a lack of support from management.

While I have been with Connect Hearing for a few years I had several other jobs before coming to work with CH.    The work life balance is superb.    While a days work can sometimes be hectic and fast paced one needs to develop your time management skills and know what has to be done in a days work and what can be pushed over to tomorrow for completion.     The management team has it's eyes open w/ regard to employee performance.   That is to say that if  you work hard and show a measure of responsibility for your position you will be praised and rewarded.   The opportunity for advancement is there if you want it.    I have never had to go to bed at night wondering if my position is secure.    If you can think, strategize  and plan w/ regards to your job performance and everyday execution - Connect Hearing will see that and you will never have to worry about not having a job.     The culture I think one of the best.    These are some of the best people I have ever worked with from management to IT to my workmates in the clinics.   It is a family kind of atmosphere and I can say I genuinely care about the people I work with.     The benefits are excellent.    As you graduate to more and more years of employment your benefits graduate as well.   There is an excellent employee pension (RRSP) plan, good dental and other medical benefits.     

I enjoy every day I go to work.   Helping the hearing impaired is honorable and satisfying and to do it with an honorable company is the cats pajamas!

Connect is a good place to work for an Audiologist or Hearing Instrument Practitioner. Hours are very reasonable, compensation & benefits are competitive, with lots of opportunities for professional development. You have a full suite of excellent products to work with. I never felt limited in what I can offer my clients. 

Connect is also great for consumers of hearing healthcare. Prices are very competitive, and there is a strong focus on quality of aftercare. Things like mandatory REM at the time of fitting are a great benefit to the client and unfortunately still rare in the industry overall. I always feel free to take as much time with a client as necessary to meet their needs. 

However, know that this is also a very large and sales driven company owned by a hearing aid manufacturer. There are sales expectations that you will be evaluated on. Generally they are fair expectations, but be warned if that is not the type of atmosphere you prefer. 

The only major "con" is the corporate culture. Connect has a very "top down" management style, sometimes bordering on micro-management. This can feel stifling as it leaves very little room for individuality or autonomy at the clinic level. 

Despite this downside I would still recommend Connect Hearing, especially compared to other large manufacturer owned chains, which are generally worse.

I am in my 35th year with Connect Hearing (formally Audiology Associates).  What I have enjoyed the most are the people I work with in the Atlantic Canada region.  They are all hard working individuals who are caring and very professional.  

As with any business you have to be the right fit for their culture and their culture has to be the right fit for you.  If you are caring, professional,  hard working, growth minded and are open to positive coaching & support you will do very well with Connect Hearing and will have a life long career.

We are provided many tools and support to do our jobs even better.  We have minimum standards that we are all expected to follow.  These standards / guidelines are not unfair expectations for any professional business to follow.

Working for a company on the opposite end of the country is difficult especially with the 4 hour time difference however allowances are made for us to have a support team set up to be there for us when we open our doors at 9:00 am.

I really enjoy working at Connect because of the atmosphere, the pay, and the management staff.

I find working at Connect to provide a great work life balance. They allow for more than adequate vacation time and strongly encourage you to use it. 35 hour work weeks and extra days off for my birthday and training really allow me to maximize my quality of life.

The 300 Club bonus program is amazing.Trips to the Bahamas, Texas, Vegas and Cruises up the coast just to name a few not to mention the monetary incentives make Connect more than competitive. The base pay is excellent but the 300 club program puts them over the top.

The management staff all attend the 300 club trips and I can honestly say I genuinely like all of them. There isn't one of them that I would hesitate to ask to grab a drink with after work or second guess approaching about an issue that is important to me. 

They are my second best career choice because my kids and my family will always be #1 but there is nothing better than shipping a tween and a seven year old that thinks shes teenager off to school and going to a job that I really love.

I am honestly shocked at the slanderous reviews on here by obviously disgruntled ex-employees. There is a reason this company employs more professionals than any in the industry - it cares for its people, compensates well, and is a good employer. I love it, been here years and not going anywhere! If you can't sell hearing aids to people who NEED them - then how are you helping them? "Only about sales" is an excuse from poor performers who failed to help their customers. I know because I've come n after them and helped customers they left hanging! 

I've worked for several of the bigger players in private hearing in Canada and NONE measured up to Connect! Most recent departures have been employees who left ot join a start up owned by a disgruntled former owner and his few loyal ex-employees (who almost wthout fail were poor performers at Connect). 

I say good riddance to you whiners - the company continues to grow and for Hearing Care Professionals it's the best place to be in Canada.

Connect Hearing has a professional, competitive, challenging and creative, spirited atmosphere.  They provide helpful staff to train, with ongoing support and a database for further clarification and updated sources of reference.  They are able to assist staff and come together as a team in support, to overcome challenging crunch periods and other relevant issues.  The incentives build morale on all levels of the business and encouragement and immediate assistance is available. I would not hesitate to support this Vancouver company who has a well managed community forum and management team that seeks inclusion of all it's employees, at all levels of development. I love the originality in their presentations and good humor which allows for open dialogue as issues arise. In a corporate environment it can be difficult to maintain a level of originality, but I feel there is continual creativity with this company and an openness toward connecting with the community and an interest in contributing to the wellness of its employees.

The company has great values, does great work for clients, and has a great atmosphere in the clinics.  The downfall to this company is the head office.  They are constantly micro managing every aspect of your work, emails constantly about sales, random visits from the district sales manager who comes in with a terrible attitude and holds everyone (including patients) up from doing their job, all so he can give you a well rehearsed "sales" talk about how to sell more units to patients.  The staff work incredibly hard from the locations I have been to so far, but unfortunately their success is only measured and acknowledged by the number of units they have sold in a week/month.  Connect Hearing used to be a great organization, but as of the past few years they have really changed the way they treat staff.  Most are now fearing the visits, because they seem to easily let go of staff if the results are not making them enough money.

Save your mental health and find another job, I hope this helps.

1. Lots of loyalty clients stay here for a long time because of fair policies and nice training on front dest and hearing professions.
2. Supportive chat and sharing information in a team all day long. Nice and responsible for a manager is very important and I got one in my area, luckily.  
3. Micro management on daily work is must and normal for a technology globle company  because the bosses need to know different kinds of number on the statistics. I agree that numbers can help the performance kept in track and the records can help someone follow up immediately when anyone quit suddentely.
4. Pleasant the clients and get the sales, Similar culture with the other sales companies.  
5. A lot of staffs work for a long time at here, 5-15yrs, from my knowing,  which means here is not bad.
6. Surprise benefit will be given if you acheive some setting target. 


Connect has been a wonderful company to start my career as an audiologist with. They provided me with exceptional training and support. The benefits and compensation package is very lucrative and fair. Management is very supportive and always accessible for any questions or concerns that arise. The workplace culture is fun and very community driven - I really feel like I am making a positive difference in the surrounding community. I have learned so much from transitioning from a student into a full-time audiologist and could not thank Connect enough for making this transition seamless. Working as an audiologist can come with tough and tricky situations (as does any job), but working for Connect I can be rest assured I have the support system necessary to help guide me to success. I have throughly enjoyed the first few months of working with Connect and look forward to a bright future ahead!
