In conclusion, Connectice sets the bar high in terms of a healthy, supportive, and drama-free work environment. The company's genuine commitment to employee success, work-life balance, meaningful feedback, and growth opportunities make it an exceptional place to work in the social services sector.

No emphasis by management to create an organizational culture of transparent clear communication with staff.  On-the-ground chaos.  Toxic employees who are not reprimanded cause cascade effects like reduced morale, attrition, backstabbing, and creating disharmony.  If you lead with a compassionate heart you will meet amazing humans where they are at, and you will meet compassionate coworkers who think like you, but, management lacks compassion, and does not lead by example.   Their HR marketing materials are extraordinarily well made and sell a version of the company that looks exciting to work for, but on the front line every day working with vulnerable sector populations, I experienced no leadership, unsafe working conditions, a toxic work culture, no clear org structure, and general confusion. So many VPs, desk jockeys, and corporate folks, and no examples of good leadership on the ground.  A great job for someone NOT interested in a culture of transparency, respect, and kindness.

What is the best part of working at the company?
There is nothing good about this company if not that their pay is a bit higher compared to some other companies that are still paying below what they pay per hour. One should not compromise his/her peace of mind with working for this company where their interest is to drain you, while using threat to firing you as an indirect way of getting what they want from you. They are inhuman and not trust worthy.  

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The force you to work with their schedule and can abruptly cancel it with fake apology.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
They have good work environment but their culture is to intimidate their support workers to get what they want.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Emotional stress from top managers

Managers can vary in how good they are. Some are nice and understanding. Others are terrible and only care about their image. Teams can be cliquey and not accepting of newcomers. Compensation is not worth using your personal vehicle to transport clients (who may have bed bugs, health conditions, needles, drugs). Managers will also prioritize  clients over your personal needs and safety. 

You are also in the community alone, there is no buddy system. Which means you could walk into potentially dangerous situations and be alone. 

A lot of internal conflict/gossip between managers and employees. Turnover rate is incredibly high. I’ve seen people come and go in less than 3 months. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
The work itself was amazing! Helping others to heal and succeed in the area they are struggling in is very rewarding!

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The incredibly toxic work culture makes it impossible to succeed if the wrong person dislikes you. Hard to be on the receiving end but also hard to watch others struggle with it.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Toxic and awful, very inexperienced management team including ED and Human Resources.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Depends on your workload but if you work with staff that are “protected” by management you have to be prepared to take on their workload too.

I work full-time with Connective and I have learned a-lot ever since I started working here. My best reason I would continue this job because of very supportive management. My manager respect our work and give us chances to learn more and more, she is simply amazing.  I live my workplace as well, all my coworkers are very respectful and have a great understanding. We deal with challenges in a collaborations and I love how everyone is trying their best to support our clients at work. I am so happy that I choose to work with Connective 😊😊

Have you ever wanted to wake up loving your job and excited to leave for work? Well, that was my experience working as a Residence worker for Connective Society. The work environment was incredible. Staff and management were incredibly supportive.  I can honestly say it is the best work environment. 

If you're looking for a way to begin working with people from prison, this is the absolute best entry level job. It will challenge you and may be a learning curve, but this will be the best learning experience of your life! I highly recommend working for this organization!

Inclusive and diversely connected with culture

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Greeting residents, making dinner, helping with personal care and maintaining a clean environment for the residents

Typical day includes monitoring parolees, conducting house checks, writing casenotes, sending emails and reports. 

Workplace culture is very chill despite some hiccups. Program Managers are approachable and actually cares about staff safety and concerns. Staff members are friendly and always willing to help each other out.

I think connective is a great place to work.However, the manager I had did not know what she was doing. We constantly worked with no gloves, mask in the house even though it was reported to her. 

Groceries for the house is delayed!
New hired staff are not receiving proper orientation, which is unacceptable! Lack of communication from manager to staff.
