Middle management appears to prioritize personal image enhancement while projecting a semblance of concern towards their subordinates in the presence of senior leadership. It is advisable to exercise prudence and discernment when interacting with individuals in such roles. Furthermore, it has been observed that preferences are often shown towards select employees, resulting in irregular working hours due to reduced workload and payment concerns that are incongruent with the scale of the organization.

In addition, the company's policies and practices seem to reflect a smaller organizational structure rather than its actual size. The sales team appears to frequently engage in underbidding practices to secure contracts, potentially impacting the overall sustainability of the business. Moreover, there is a notable discrepancy between initial expectations and available work hours for technical personnel.

Furthermore, there is an expectation for employees to commit significant personal time to their work, with limited allowances for time off. Management appears to boast about their extended periods without taking time off, which may inadvertently create a culture that discourages employees from taking necessary breaks.

Never had any problems with anyone, easy work , nothing’s challenging. The major problem with this company is they don’t have any of there supervisors or leads trained to handle professional trades . They are so into looking to protect there management system that the people actually on the tools are left out to hang. It’s definitely a Clicky, big boys club on the management level. If there’s problem if the field the first reaction from the untrained  supervisor is to discipline, very reactive, your always guilty and they won’t listen to your side of the story , it’s not really there fault , there just uneducated about how to deal with employees and how to fix problems without going over the deep end . I was there long enough to see this happen regularly. If you just want a job to make money and are not looking to advance in the company, this might be a place for you ... but if you care about being your best , helping the customer and your fellow workers , this isn’t the place for you . They only want to hire mindless tradesmen who only say “ yes sir , I’ll get it done , even if it’s not written that way in the Alberta building code book “ . 

Are you desperate enough to work for a Company that trades your life for $? Both short term and long term? A Company that has more invested interest in preserving its physical assets and yearly revenue than the verbal and written agreements it has with its employees? Do you enjoy deceptive and alienating management methods? Does the concept of being potential collateral damage to protect Company image and maintain client contract, sound appealing to you? If so...Convergint is for you. Convergint will stop at nothing to be a multi billion dollar Company. 

The wage will sound good and they’ll promise a lot of perks. Sadly they will slowly be taken away or you will quickly find that these “signing” perks didn’t even exist. Job security will be promised but you will soon see that it’s a “turn style” Company. It doesn’t matter how good you are at your job or with people... you must maintain a “chess like Pawn” modicum to achieve any long term employment.

Convergint is the “trades”  version of the cut throat world of corporate greed. Nothing family about them. Just money, lies and deception. At least in Fort. Mac Murray.

I worked at Convergint , Fort McMurray Suncor site for a few years. It was hands down the worst experience of my life. I asked for fall protection training because my job required me to climb fixed ladders 50 to 60 feet high. Managements response was " the cage will catch you" and " I'm not asking the client to pay for that". 

Many people were off on stress leave due to the horrible conditions we worked in. it is very easy to get fired , the staff worries about job security on a daily basis. 

safety matters on paper , they could care less about you or your safety. the safety officers have no training whatsoever and usually don't leave their desks. same with the leads. they constantly throw people under the bus and have zero leadership skills. 

If you don't suck up to management you will be fired period. 

The Maintenance Team will be little you and make you feel so dumb that you will actually start to believe them . so toxic.  

This was the worst experience of my life so people please listen to me and don't waste your time applying .

Managers and supervisors will fire anyone that shows better work habits or training/education than them for fear of losing their jobs,Was hired with 3 other guys,myself and another were let go last day of shift without warning,I unfortunately had already left site when I was informed of being let go for not being a good fit despite no issues or reprimand during my probationary period so now my tools are on site without a definitive date or cost to myself to have them returned which I need to start another job once found.co worker was let go for same excuse and was an experienced tradesmen but made light of lack of tooling,safety issues and improper procedures being used in the overhead door trade,do yourself a favor and do not work for this company unless you are willing to leave any good work habits,professionalism,and safety at the gate so convergint can keep hiding the shoddy work they are performing for suncor

Poorly managed, worst corporate culture I have ever encountered. The Job culture looks amazing on paper and at first, but then you find out that management punishes anyone who follows it. Safety is a joke here, Total joke. Every time I needed PPE or other equipment to work safely, I ended up getting in trouble from management for 'costing money and delays' and then would get in trouble again for breaking the safety rules because I couldn't get the PPE, material, manpower or equipment needed to do the job in compliance with safety regulations. 

Profit matters more than people, and the corp culture and company values are all lies they don't even pay lip service to. Be aware. This may not bother you the way it bothers people with professional integrity.

A typical day at work would be receiving tickets over mobile app and picking them up as you go, you get to learn allot of relay and wiring troubleshooting, sensor troubleshooting and on the odd occasion you will have to troubleshoot software. Management is easy to work with as long as you are performing well. Culture at work is pretty good, lots of get together for employees, Christmas parties and such. Some community giving events can be expected as well. Hardest part of job like any other would be dealing unknown issue that have not been resolved yet previously and you will have to figure it out step-by-step, on the bright side at company like "Convergint" you will always have team of techs that are willing to help you. Most enjoyable part of work is you get to manage your own time and appointments.

You could work here until you get another job, otherwise avoid this company for your own sake and future. Trainings and support are non-existent. Pay is decent. Upper management and HR are completely clueless and ignorant of what is happening within each team/department (especially the security team). They hired many full-time workers just for a few big projects that they got and as a matter of fact, mass lay-off happened after things were done. Remember to act happy in front of management and HR or they consider you a burden/liability. Promotion is unlikely to happen no matter how good you are unless you are in good relationship with the management.

I work from 11pm to 7am.  It's really not busy on the night shift.  You have plenty of time to study or watch movies/shows/read if you want.  You might have spurts that you get a few things at the same time but it's manageable. Plenty of time to catch up if you need to.  So a typical night at work is opening all the computer software's.  Answer the phone, create work orders for clients, getting fire, medical, security, elevator alarms and then calling the proper keyholder list.
Benefits are very good and they start from the 1st day of hire/work.  Obviously you don't see the supervisor or manager on the night shift but if you have questions you can always send them an email or a message in Teams.

Nice company to work for. They treat you well and they will always tell you to be safe and follow the safety protocol. If you don't know ask policy. 

Everyone is part of the family and they will assist above and beyond. The team leads, supervisors, operations team and maintenance teams are great. Management are good and helpful. Peace sign every time you meet them in the road. 

I am a 4th and have passed all my 3rd since 2017 but I am not complaining. I would have stayed but moved because of family reason. I will apply back if my wife got a job in Fort Mcmurray.

 I would recommend any qualified person to apply.
