My job was not the same as many Business Manager Assistant. I worked around offenders in a Medium Level Institution. My typical day was supervisor the offenders in the office, ensuring the procurement was done correctly, I also audit the work done by offenders. Once completed I would revise it with my Managers and then enter it into IFMMS. I also managed both Accounts Payable/Receivable in all steps including: Quoting, creating purchase order, calling customers, coding items into correct accounts, and paying invoices. I love my managers, they were always willing to teach me new materials, and making sure I left CORCAN with lots of experience. The hardest part of my job was not showing emotions with offenders, after a while you get used to it. The most enjoyable part was ensuring my Managers were happy with my work. It's the best feeling in the world!

Go to work in the morning, and descale the chassy of the truck in my bay, with another person, then we went onto the cab, and disassembled the interior, cleaned and vacuumed, and removed any oil and paint from inside the doors.We then removed the windows, sanded down the cab, did necessary body work, and taped off what was necessary to send it to paint. All this contributed to my lessons.
The hardest part was the job its self, because we were supposed to have a truck a day finished between two people, and ready for the paint guys.But the entire job itself was also rewarding because I respect our service people and was happy to do them the service.

I personaly appreceated the experence to learn new types of work such as working in abottiors for meat processing,learning about compost and how to make itlearning how water is purafied for safe drinking,haveing the chance to teach others in fields that i am familar with such as truck dismantal,and shipping,building construction.The management was most willing to help with any obsticals that may be indered over the tme employed.Co workers were of mixed intellagents attatudes and work habits.All in all a very enjoyable work experance

Corcan was a very relaxed atmosphere, but at times could be very demanding. Safety at Corcan was very Important, as you were always working with an assorted saws, drills, plainers, basically all your woodworking tools and fortunatly there was a strong group who practised and respected this rule. Managment is fare and good to their workers. If you needed a day off they would always grant it. The best part of working there was after you've seen the finished product your buitt it gave you a sense of pride

I learned to actively listen: ask for help when necessary. Assigned work was competed on schedule or one was without bonus.
There were no benefits with my job, therefore a change is imminent.
The most difficult part of my day was quality control yet enjoyable as this was challenging to ensure quality product.

Its easy to get along with the people here as they are here to work, get to know one another, and persue advancement. every day typically starts with a toolbox meeting to discuss the plans for the day, discuss FLHA's (field level hazard assessments), and plans to mitigate any and all risks to the workers. a very safety conscious workplace.

every day is a learning experience. I am safety minded at all times, I am a team player, i work well unsupervised, finish tasks at hand, other duties as assigned. attention to detail. motivated.

The shop was always busy and hectic. On site training but that left the more skilled workers scrambling while the younger or less adept workers were being taught.

A great place to gain skills needed for working as commercial/ residential cleaner, working with/little supervision and taking inventory of cleaning supplies and placing orders for more supplies.

One of my first job experiences very good job learned a lot about packaging and general labour while in this position, glad for the opportunity and training, and now feel more confident to move on to other opportunities within this trade
