Worst experience I have ever had at any job. Manager was great for the first year or so and then got very rude and nasty. Talked behind customers back as soon as they would leave the store . I worked at a location for roughly two years and in that 2 years I had seen 4 people and now myself so 5 people bullied out of a job. Doesnt sound like many but keep in mind there was only ever 4 staff 1 including the manager herself.  Everything was awesome and exciting for the first year or so. After you start everything goes downhill. For the last year I was scared to go to work I had very bad anxiety and felt stressed out every single day going to work I couldnt sleep most nights. I literally was having nightmares.I would be told I was doing something wrong or she didnt like the way I was doing something and whenever she would decide to tell me it would always be in front of the other staff. Very embarrassing. One day she mentioned my shirt was inappropriate for the workplace, just out of nowhere and of course the other girls were in the room.
 So I said "oh well I've worn it like once a week for the last almost 2 years" and her answer was yeah I've been meaning to tell you. She said it looked like a pajama shirt. (It was a blouse plain black shorter in front longer in the back) So many horrible things have happened I cant even begin to think about most of them. I have had customers coming in and asking about how bad it is to work in the workplace and saying things like I could never work for your manager. I have also had customers say to me I only come after 5 so I dont have to deal with your manager. She has threatened me before by saying things like well i would have never hired you if you couldnt come in on other days. ( I was hired as part time before I even applied we talked about days I could not work at all because I am a junior stylist trying to build a clientele.) She would say things like well I have to give you lower Mark's on you review which may affect your pay. Because I feel you haven't been a part of the team... I have had 2 sick days and requested 2 days off and requested 2 days where I could leave early for cousins weddings. But still work and 4 hour shift. I have worked with girls who have had 10 or more sick days in a few months. I was definitely the most reliable team member at the time. Anyways, long story short dont do it. Will completely destroy your self esteem. And you will have many sleepless nights.

Balance of busy and slow times!  Not open after 6 pm on weekdays and only until 4 on weekends.   Surprised to get benefits as a part timer which is a bonus.  Have to stay updated on beauty/hair products but brands have training to read or calls    Pay is average but you sometimes get extra by selling featured brands which can add up!   Free products and samples of professional hair products is nice!  Great culture and values . Felt supported by my manager and fellow associates and we have fun while working to keep stire filled and clean. We don’t stand around board as there is always something to do or learn. If your lazy and shy it’s not a place you will enjoy but I like to keep busy and challenge myself.    Dm is very open about helping us and she takes time to ask how we are and if we need anything even if we are only working a few shifts . Manager has been here for long time and so have most so it may take awhile if you want management but gives you time to learn if you aren’t a stylist and shows they like what they do even with stock challenges through covid . Manger is always there to help us and support   Some good changes with upper management include life/work balance a focus, wellness support  and counselling (great through pandemic) . Unless someone is sick we take turns for weekends , even managers  so quite fair .  Other stores help you if you cant find answers through store communication so your never on your own to figure something out. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
Managers act as if we are still in highschool, don't defend their workers, if you book a day off they only give you one day of the schedule, they gossip in the back and will talk about their employees to the other employees, you should know everything about everything because the training is a joke that is non existent 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Trying to find a product that works just as well if they don't have what the customer is looking for 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Toxic management, the only thing that made going in good was my coworker 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Toxic, dead quiet because if I sneezed or went to get a drink managers would be high schoolers gossiping and complaining. It was like walking on egg shells

.Very customer oriented business.The manager is awesome,really caring,easy going and patient.The manager is very kind and a great support system as you learn how to be a part of the team and your role as a client focused employee while managing to get that days jobs done.10% off days was a blast everyone is excited and happy,it's are super busy day and it rocks.The thing I thought was weird for a beauty industry focused company is there clothing policy,i think I went through 3 wardrobe changes while I was there.When you work in the beauty industry you are naturally creative and flamboyant and a all black dress code is just boring.Than it was white and black than it became colorful and I hope it still is.Colrful and professional.

Was with cosmo for a year. Was 3rd manager for the store in a year, was short staffed and couldnt get staff becuase they insisted on paying 13.50 to licensed professionals in a city with high cost of living. Finally got quality staff and after being told different things by the 3 district managers i had i got burnt out. This created issues with my last dm who reprimanded me infront of staff. She also said i couldnt implement something unless it was already done by cosmo, i had made a paper that staff needed to initial when they had completed a task. They also use a fax machine and the most out of date technology that sometimes works. Lastly my dm began to ignore not just my emails but my staffs when a customer order qas not filled amd the customer called looking for it.

I worked there for about a year. It was a very low volume store which was nice at times because you could get a lot of things done. But then you'd run out of things to do, which made it very boring. You also opened and closed by yourself, and occasionally I felt unsafe. There weren't any cameras either so if I had to go in while sick, I was worried no one would know (and there were so few employees that I always had to go in while sick because they'd make a fuss about covering my shift)the management when I first started wasn't  ideal but the manager was amazing and very well seasoned. The new manager that got instated when I was toward the end of my working there was very underqualified and it made it difficult to be there and do work.

Store 7364 is run excellently, the manager is helpful and supportive, all employees have equal treatment and manager pays careful attention to all employee requests and suggestions. Upper management for the district is excellent, always willing to lend a hand and never diminutive to employees. Customers do come first, but management will always step up to correct customers if they’re wrong, or rude. You feel valued and appreciate instead of used working here. 

I worked as a DSC for almost 10 years and was unfairly laid off during the pandemic and saw my job position being advertised a few weeks later. I spent years growing my territory from $35k to $80k a month and was thrown away like a piece of trash. There were a lot of things that management and the head office were in involved in that I didn’t agree with and when I finally spoke up I was conveniently laid off due to company restructuring. If you want to keep your job with this company you must bite your tongue and look the other way or you will not have a job for long. The pay was not worth the hassle. 

I thoroughly enjoyed working for this company and would work there again in the future if there was an opportunity for me. 
I started at part time. Then went to full time and became acting manager all within one year. My store did so well I was blessed with an opportunity of a lifetime and went to their National Sales Meeting in Toronto , October 3,2019 and in November I left for personal reasons and immediately I became hopefully be working with CosmoProf again ,soon. 
I wish to be manager or full time with the company please. 

A typical day at work included:  opening an closing the p.O.Systems as well as running them.  Maintaining cleanliness of the store,  obtaining new product knowledge, and keeping up wth product codes, incredients, and any alterations, and relayin and ingreient change to customers.  It was a fun environment to work in.  Management was great.  The hardest part of the job was dealing with the innapropriate customers.  The most enjoyable part of the job was givin, and receiving information to customers, and from customers to me.
