This organization operates under a fear‑driven leadership culture where compliance is valued far more than competence. Employees are expected to agree with everything and avoid raising concerns; those who express different opinions often become targets for retaliation.

There is no clear structure, no defined reporting lines, and no consistent division of responsibilities. Promotions tend to reward silence and obedience rather than performance or merit. Be prepared to report to people who are not qualified to understand technical compentence, but are themselves there as they were submissive to leadership to be there. 

While the corporate team encourages employees to “question everything,” the local leadership punishes anyone who does. This creates a contradictory, unsafe environment where speaking up carries real consequences.

Anyone considering joining should be aware that this workplace lacks transparency, psychological safety, and accountability.

A lot of fun if you are a helper or a temp, but as a lead hand it's different. You are never taken seriously or listened too, and the majority of the time when you contact anybody above you with issues on the job you are told to "figure it out" even though you told them three weeks before it won't work for a/b/c. Then a/b/c happens and they hang you over the coals. Inside AND outside sales never leave there desk or do site checks. They will send you out for a site check, you fill a detailed report, and they ignore everything you say anyway and send you out in conditions or with product you can't work with, then tell you to "figure it out" and ask "what took so long?" They make favorites, and if you're not on the list then it's nothing but garbage work for you. But hey, you get a fancy truck! Doesn't matter if waking up to go to work is the last thing you want to do. 

Severely toxic environment. Unbelievably high volume of work and expectations with extremely poor training. Management gives unreasonable tasks with unrealistic timelines, and again, no proper training.  Management is seriously lacking methodical and critical thinking or problem solving skills. Some co-workers are competitive and refuse to work as a Team and it seems to be accepted. Management turns a blind eye to the constant gossip and back-stabbing. Never-ending fighting between the office and the Technicians.  Decisions from management come after the fact and I have witnessed them literally contradict an earlier decision. Management has double standards for different employees and there is obvious nepotism going on.  The only thing I learned from this company is the type of environment I don't ever want to be in again. 

I enjoyed working at Creative Door. Great people,great training and great safety program. 

I would go from site to site servicing overhead doors and completing the necessary paperwork while communicating with the customer and dispatch.I learned all about door systems,how to fix them and the equipment used to do so. 

The hardest part of the job was the heavy lifting of products in sometimes awkward positions.

The most enjoyable part of the job was helping the customer by fixing the problem with the overhead door and help allow his/her day to day operations to move fluid once again.

In Saskatoon in a 3 month period 9 employees left. That tells you everything you need to know. Extremely high work volume, extremely poor training. You do have job security if you can do the unbelievably high volume of work, because there is so many vacant jobs they aren’t going to let go of anyone. However if you can’t live up to the unreasonable tasks without proper training you aren’t worth keeping they’ll get rid of you rather than train you. It makes no sense. They also won’t pay overtime because they put everyone on a salary and tell you that you aren’t entitled to overtime which is a direct violation of the labour standards act, that would apply only to specific jobs in upper management. 

I had believed in the culture of the company.  Employees had worked together to get jobs accomplished effectively and accurately.
Estimators had the knowledge so that customers were confident they were choosing the correct place.  

With change of management and new people hired, employees are "sick" regularly without punishment.  I see angry customers from a lack of communication and errors made in sales.

When I first interviewed for the position, it was a place that I would have liked to make my forever job. When I went to Kelowna, I knew it was the place I wanted to be, however circumstances dictated that I move back to Edmonton. Unfortunately Edmonton's culture had changed. It was more competitive and stressful. There was no sense of togetherness. It seemed like everyone was competing with everyone to gain favour with Management. It did not end well.

Serving the residential, industrial and commercial markets of Central Alberta, I led the pursuit of excellence and unparalleled customer focus for a team of field technicians, product installers, administrative support professionals,and warehouse personnel. I also interfaced with customers on problem resolution and service inquires while managing the sales cycle for internal/external sales resources.

The work was very stressful and the position did not pay a fair salary for the work that was required.   But the atmosphere was good and the people that I worked with were great.  Management was ok but not great as there was lots of inexperienced managers which made it tough when decisions had to be made.

I started as a very new member of this team with no prior experience,  mostly received support and guidance from my manager and supervisor. 
There are some issues that cam be handled better but net positive so far .
