Most days we worked 10 to 14 plus hours a day, and we had no management supports.  When a driver made mistakes, the management would focus on the mistakes made, instead of focusing on what they could do to avoid said mistakes in the future and giving you additional training to ensure that said mistakes/incidents didn't happen repeatedly.  I did learn how to drive an 18 speed body job truck with this company, I also learned how to load fuel and how to make the fuel delivers.  
I found that there was very little or no contact with management in person.  They did not ensure that we were not fatigued while putting in longer hours..
The hardest part of this job were the longer hours, and the management complaining about the hours.  The dispatch would load your day up and the management would complain when it was physically impossible to complete the said day..
The most enjoyable thing about the job was the co workers, dealing with the different types of customers. and the driving.

Pay is moderate with a promise of a bonus that always falls far short of projections.  

Driven people will not excell here as former Viterra employees come here to pension out and are parasites on younger more ambitious people. 

A simple purchase of 1 Jug of chemical involves 7 pages of paper!   

It is a U.S.company with a U.S. business model tring to operate in the Canadian Ag market and they don't mesh well.

Not competitive in local market in pricing. Always had to call Marketing manager to get "permission " to price down to local market, losing the sale in the delay.

Lack cohesive company culture.   A lot of retail locations  will not share product unless they are looking to get rid of excess stock.

Management is paid bonuses on how much money they don't spend. Things don't get fixed, everything is held together by duct tape and bungee straps. Even though CPS hauls dangerous goods they have the worst trucks on the road. Most trucks have no a/c, no engine break and the smell like mice. They have a fleet of trucks that no other company would drive. The motto is to just get through this year.... they've been been doing that for the last 10 years. All the safety videos that employees are forced to watch are from the US and the rules are totally different.  I like working in agriculture, so I put up with this nonsense.

My work day involves reviewing reports, processing credit applications and working with customers to solve issues.

I've learned if you listen and understand the situation, issues can be resolved quickly and to everyone's satisfaction.

When you make a decision make sure you understand the issue first and be prepared to defend it.  But do not be so firm as to not consider alternatives.

The most enjoyable part of my day is working with an excellent team and having fun while getting the job done..

invoice product being sold, manage accounts receivable and payable , keep policies and procedures up to date
- advised customers on credit available to purchase fertilizer and chemical for their operating needs.
- i learned to work independently of the two other men in the office and learned to manage my time well.
- I created good friendships with my co-workers and customers over the years.
- worked from 8am to 5pm five days a week.

incredibly busy job, but if you can get past having no life outside of work for a few weeks until it slows down its great! lots of overtime hours, turning into awesome pay cheques! worked with awesome people, really enjoyed not just working with coworkers but also customers. Only down side is that it is mostly a spring seasonal job, and had to find something else for the rest of the summer. never know when your last day could be, so the unpredictability of it was not so great, but all in all I wish I could go back to it!

I really liked my job to start with. But changes happened, restructuring took place.mass confusion happened. Managers were changed around and new ones hired. When problems arouse there was no help to be had. Managers gave lip service but nothing ever really changed.

Typical day started with opening the chem shed and fertilizer plant before customers came in.Start filling fertilizer bins with fertilizer from delivery trucks,fill andhydrous tank with fertilizer when truck arrives.Hardest part of this job was learning new products that came in to supply customers as it was a constant learning expirience

It was a good company to work for without  repetion of work assignments .Had  good pay rate  but was only seasonal  job . I saw lot of the province in all types of weather from heat to rain and flooding .,

typical day was to help the farmer in anyway he needed. 
learned how to manage my time and deal will all kinds of personalities 
management was VERY poor no communication 
Workplace culture there was none everyone was competing against each other
