As a supervisor, if you love high stress, too many hours, not getting paid for the number of hours you work, other departments not doing their own work and giving it to you under the guise of "collaboration", production management (as of August, 2019)  that pretends to know what their doing, but never actually spends time learning the actual job (3 weeks of training was spent in his office relaxing on his phone too often, and no floor work on either shift), being delegated to by everyone in salaried positions and not actually being able to do you own work, this is the place for you.

Too many other departments' people delegate their work to supervisors, who are uninformed about it until its too late. Some see this and agree, but might be unable to say anything, or just don't care because it's not them. Not helpful at all. The turnover in that role is astounding. They need to have a real and legitimate look at why. 

The new "production manager" ( August, 2019) is absolutely no help. His "knowledge" is just regurgitation of what people already know. It is easy to read a document and send emails about policy enforcement, but listening to the real concerns and actually making a difference, and change, is not. That is a part of your actual role, however. Autocratic leadership is not how this company wants to run, as stated by the COO. He wants servant leaders. People with that leadership style can't survive under the current "leadership". They need more production supervisor roles as well. There is too much to do for one person, unless the production manager actually does some of it.

Nobody left at Dainty who has any experience, everyone who knew what they were doing has either quit or been laid off. Extremely poor management, 4 COO/Presidents in the last 3 years is just the beginning of the problem. Each man heading the company is worse than the last, current management runs the company with a foul-mouth and a juvenile style including his 'in-crowd' that stick together, but the people who do the actual work are not appreciated. There have not been any raises given in over 5 years, the company is losing money is the explanation given, yet hundreds of thousands is spent on marketing and millions is spent on automating the plant. Which gives a clear picture that people are expendable and not at all valued. The company joke is the revolving door, every month there is either more lay-offs or people quitting. Workplace culture is toxic, gossip, back-stabbing, passing off work onto other people so management can chat all day.....morale is as low as the pay. Don't bother with this revolving door, run away as fast as you can, there are lots of better places to work in Windsor!

This job was a big disappointment for me. I feel sorry for those employees who don't have a choice but to stay with this declining and messy company. Too bad because the facility itself is good and they make a good product.

you don't get the clear picture about how messed up this place is until you are there for a little while. You start to think there should be ways to correct the inefficiencies and lack of teamwork there that you hear has been the case for years, then you realize there are so many entrenched people there that don't want the place to change, don't want their jobs to change, set in their ways, so its status quo, and you get stuck in this vicious circle of nothing ever changing. There is a revolving door in mgmt unless you are accepted as one of them, then maybe you stick around, but who can function in daily chaos? Blame is misplaced if it protects the "in" crowd. Please do yourself a favour and go anywhere else.

I have been here over 11 years.  It has not been a great place to work UNTIL NOW!!!!.  New Mgmt is very communicative, believes in having fun while at work, and is focused on people first.  Our new COO is getting rid of politics and gossip, giving lots of people opportunities to grow, he is the first that has kept his promise to me about learning more.   

To come into work everyday be communicated too, be supported and watch people who gossip or point at others failures be walked out the door when no one else would deal with them.  Has made me proud to be at Dainty and happy to be at work everyday.  

People should ask the people who work at dainty about it not the people who have been removed for not being part of a team.

The company is growing exponentially and there is lots of opportunities to learn and grow within the organization

This company is growing very fast, it's a fast pace environment but everyone has an open mind and willing to help 


What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
it's a fast pace environment, the culture is very customer and quality focused.  
The environment and culture between the employees is very friendly and fun. Everyone is willing to support eachother

When i first arrived lots of Gossip and bad attitudes.  New Mgmt team is changing that.  More fun environment a lot better communication, fun activities on a regular basis but everyone is held accountable.  The changing of people was hard to watch but the atmosphere is a lot better and everyone is laughing and having a good time.  There is a lot to do and  everyone has to be flexible so its not an environment for people who don't work together.

Used to be an amazing environment with a great team. New HR came in and removed all positive energy from the building.
HR gossips and spreads personal information as part of everyday conversation.  
There are still good people that work there but they are becoming fewer and fewer as it appears all office staff is being replaced monthly for zero apparent reason other than to bring in younger people they can pay less salary to. 



Very high turnover rate for a small company. Every month at least 1 person is fired or quits on the salary side. 

CEO and HR Manager need to be replaced if there is any chance on the business surviving.  Though they state they want to hire people who challenge status quo, anyone who does, finds themselves unemployed quickly after. 

Hardest part of the job is walking around wondering if you're the next to be let go.
