What is the best part of working at the company?
Weekends,so you can clear your head from the constant KAOS manage puts you through mostly from the people that sit behind a desk a pretend yo do ther jobs but are actually watching movies on ther cell phone

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Management not up to par here,you can expect constant Kaos because of lack of communication or no communication at all. I uave a writeup on my drivers abstract to prove this!!!

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Every man/woman for themself be prepared to recieve 3 different instructions from 3 different people everyday

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Even with everything I ve stated,your busy all day and it makes the time go faster

The guys in the field work as a team.  Safety is key.  People in the office don't communicate well with field workers, making for a stressful workplace.  Every job is rushed, with a lack of coffee/lunch breaks.  Days off are few and far between or weeks on end.  No such thing as a work life balance for field workers.  Unless favoured or willing to work last minute 24/7 there is no room for improvement.  Hardest part of job was working under pressure, time managements and making last minute decisions due to lack of communication.  Receiving less than 24 hours notice you are going out of town   Most enjoyable part of the day was working with the guys, it was like a band of brothers.  Through thick and thin we always got through the day smiling.

It started out with a great work life balance but there was absolutely no guidance. The management wants you to work but they have no idea what you should do. Massive power struggle between Edmonton and Calgary location. The company is completely divided. Management will put any and all blame on anyone and everyone else. They look at everyone as a scapegoat for anything that goes wrong. Won’t hesitate to fire the scapegoat before they get the word out that the management is flawed. 
No room for advancement. Especially in the office.

The field supervisor was the best I have ever seen in the construction industry. very sharp professional.The group of Workers was so fun easy going and guys watching out for each other so at the end of the day everyone went home safe.I never thought there was so many procedure in making a retainer wall.i learned alot for the short term work for them. I would like to say also that  Double star is the no 1 in this field of work.

The owner of this company only cares about the $$$ and not one bit about his employees.  Promises the world, job security, bonus's and get nothing.  I was with them for 3 years, did not see one bonus or raise, always working out of town with no opportunity to come home to my family.  Always getting false promises of raises, promotions, and safer work environments. 
Safety is non-existent surprised there have not been more deaths in this company.  Many incidents on a daily basis that are covered up.

People who have never done the job trying to tell people how to do the job. Management is horrible!!! There are a handful of employees that do all the work. Then a whole bunch of people who just stand around and collect a pay cheque. Anyone who will tell the supervisors what they want to hear. Becomes the next supervisor. Then it’s the guys on the ground that suffer. This place isn’t about the work you do or the experience you have. It’s about who you make friends with! 

Whether its the police seizing computers at the office because they are sketchy, or the fact that you work a 14 hour day and they want you to eat lunch while working instead of having any sort of break. If you want to be a slave, this is a great company for that. Drillers stand there doing nothing physical, but if your an assistant be prepared to do everything right and still get yelled at because buddies wife let him and its your fault. 

Unfortunately I think the company is getting run into the ground. New people pop up in management positions that should not be there. Bonuses get thrown out the window even if you sign a contract to receive one. Length of shift constantly changes when you are out of town.

It’s a great place to work with an amazing team. I learned a lot of new skills, gained valuable hands-on experience, and had the opportunity to work on a variety of interesting projects. Everyone was supportive, professional, and always willing to help. The work environment was positive, and I truly enjoyed being part of the team. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone looking to learn, grow, and work with great people.

Great place to work with many opportunities to grow and cross train.  Growing company with typical challenges but headed in the right direction. I have seen many people advance in their role during my time here and move forward with their careers. New management has also been focused on growing the company and developing programs that have helped develop and good culture.
