This job was good if you work under high stress situations and timel limits, with little to know direction. Your position isnt secure because if the contracts doesnt get renewed you are left with no notice to find a new one, just a phone call saying the contracts are done. Which I understand happens from time to time but the owner or supervisors dont tell you when the contracts are up for tender so you can atleast decide weather or not you will start looking for new work or take the risk or waiting!

Working alone once you've left the depot.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
When management doesn't communicate with their contractors and when contractors fail to show up.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It's every person for themselves. Some people can be reliable but not enough. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Every day is different and you won't find out until you arrive to the depot in the morning.

Get to work at six am, load the van for delivery and mail drop.  Start by doing delivery to homes for an hour then switch to mail drops for the letter carriers. Once completed return to station for pick-up then back to home delivery till noon, break for an hour then we do the rest of delivery's. Once completed we would pick up letters from the drop boxes. Learned how to manage time; the worst part of this job was avoiding collisions. The best part was when someone got what they had been waiting for and thanked you very much would leave you smiling all day.

In a typical day of work i would start by driving my work vehicle to the postal sorting facility and loading my vehicle with sometimes up to 100 oversized parcels for delivery over a large area.I would then deliver the parcels and then do a mail pickup run from 1-2pm and from 5-6pm. I would then park my van and use a bigger cube truck to pickup all the priority parcels collected that day in the city and transport them to Purolator who would then transport them to the airport.

Sorted and stacked the mail and parcels by 10 a.m. to deliver to my route. Delivered parcels to doors if needed signature and took the parcels not signed to sub station. Liked working with the other workers. The early start was hard some days but it was worth it when you finished early. The hardest was delivering the flyers on those bad weather days.

The job itself is great you come in sort the freight load it and then off on your route to be basically your own boss for the day.  The pay isn't great for the work expected but that's what you get for a contracted position.  The owner is a great person to work she is caring and compassionate.

Thorough training but unduly critical at times.  Management was blunt to the point of being borderline unfriendly. I do not recommend this job.  Enough said. 

Worked hard long hours , made sure every piece was accounted for , often told I made mistakes often told I didn’t work fast enough , often told we would be laid off if we didn’t pick up the pace so they can make the (part time guy) a full time guy (who didn’t even want full time) , so yeah I felt unappreciated 

The pay was not the best but they do give benefits.They give you the hours if you want to work and they pay overtime as well. Overall I really liked to work for this company and would again if the opportunity ever came up again.

Management actually cares about you and the pay is well above average for the industry the owner actually cares about her people 
Would be with them still if contracts hadn’t been undercut
