•	Consistently praised for dedication, reliability, organization and effectiveness as one of school district’s most in-demand substitutes. Filled in for permanent teachers at a moment’s notice; closely adhered to lesson plans; and kept students motivated, engaged and focused. 
•	Repeatedly selected as a long-term Educational Assistant for teachers on maternity or extended medical leave. 
•	Frequently assisted for absent ESL, and high school special education teachers as one of the few Educational Assistant qualified in these areas. Showed resourcefulness and teaching effectiveness in meeting the needs of students with limited English language proficiency as well as learning disabilities. 
•	Voluntarily stepped in to run several after-school programs (e.g., girls’ volleyball coaching, cheerleading coaching and after-school tutoring) when permanent teachers were unable to fill these roles. 
•	Incorporated technology into students’ learning activities for varied academic disciplines. Efforts proved 
so successful in enhancing student understanding of material that they resulted in invitation to lead 
district wide teacher in-service on “Technology Integration across the Curriculum.”

I do program planning ahead of time so I know what I am going to teach for the day.  I work my hardest to help multicultural children learn.  I also communicate with multicultural parents to let them know what is going on.  I explain to them how their child is doing and suggest how they can help their child at home too.

I help out in the office.  I answer phone calls that come in. I schedule appointments for parents who want to come in for a tour. I type up policies that have changed during the year.  I do filing in the office as well. I keep track of monthly fees that are needed and report to supervisor once collected.

Work life at the previous preschool I was employed at was always a fun environment to call home, five days a week! All of my coworkers were like family and we all got along well and communicated efficiently. The hardest part of the job was when our children graduated to kindergarten, but it was also the best part. Watching them grow is so rewarding! I learnt a lot about working with a team, but mostly I learnt a lot from my mentor and head teacher. She taught me about patience and organization.

Fun workplace with supportive management. Not all about the numbers but how you personally grow and develop. The most enjoyable part of the job is working alongside my co-workers and learning from them. The most difficult was having to say good-bye to the children when they left the centre to continue onto school. There as a lot of variety in what I did each day, ranging from tasks to new projects that were challenging and exciting

Hardest part of the job was being away with family for a long time with limited access and contacts.
Most enjoyable part of the job is travelling the world and seeing the other parts of the world while working.

The post enjoyable part of my job was working with the children and helping out where I could. I also enjoyed meeting other people.

I learned  a lot about helping people families in the Military and how to support them where it was needed.

A typical day would mean helping the children at lunch time. Feeding them washing their hands and face after lunch, helping them with craft materials, reading to them, playing games.

I've been at Waabinong Head Start for a year now I love my co-workers and management, its a very positive team environment, there was nothing hard about this job, I gained a lot of experience from working with children to being in the office. However I need to get more employment as my contract is ending at the end of September.

Beautiful, amazing children and families. It’s literally your second home. You wake up happy to go to work and see the children again. I would recommend anyone. I just wish that ECEs are paid more than they are paid now.
Building relationships with families and other coworkers was amazing. Great work ethic. The owner of the place is an amazing soul. You’ll love her.

I have never worked at a place where I felt welcomed, appreciated and loved. I don't feel walked on or taken advantage.  I am soo greatful for Creative Kids and I will continue to excel for bigger opportunities. 

Wonderful atmosphere and calming transition with songs, I have learned how to use guidance techniques, I have approached the children with respect and care. I enjoyed very much to make part of the team while I participate in the field placement in the City of Toronto organizations such as YMCA, Toronto Early Learning Child Care Services. and TDSB.
