This is a great place to work for! I’m a refrigeration service apprentice, and I worked here for 9 months, left for a bit after school, then returned and am happily working here now. The only reason I left was because I wanted to try my hand at the freezers and coolers side of refrigeration. Now that I’m back we’ve picked up more contracts for companies with that sort of refrigeration, so we now cover it all! From freezers to RTUs to MAUs to chillers - everything but grocery stores.

The work culture here is awesome. There are weekly team meetings where it’s very evident that the office and management are on your side. Your concerns are heard, and any input you have towards the inner workings of the company’s processes are warmly welcomed.

You’re not overworked or guilted into working late in the slightest. If you want an 8 hour day, you’ve got it. On the other hand if you want to work five 12 hour shifts, you’re able to do that too. They offer a four 10 hour shift option, with either Monday’s or Friday’s off which is a HUGE plus for me.

This company is very family oriented, putting you and your family, or any situations you might be in, high up on their list of priorities. There are team building events, outings, breakfasts and barbecues often. Communication between the office, the field, and customers is always there.

The software used has it all in one place, so there’s no switching between apps and websites for your write-ups, timesheet, and work orders.


What is the best part of working at the company?
The team members I worked with were approachable and easy to get along with, and the role itself had potential.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The most stressful part was the lack of clarity, poor communication, and overall instability. There seemed to be a major disconnect between the office and the field, along with a lack of respect for field staff from people without trade experience. In my short time there, I also saw layoffs and hiring decisions that felt inconsistent and difficult to understand, which created a pretty unsettling work environment.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work environment felt unstable and disorganized. There seemed to be a real disconnect between office leadership and field operations, and I did not get the sense that field staff were consistently respected or understood. The culture came across as reactive rather than well planned, which made it hard to trust the direction of the company.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A typical day involved dealing with shifting priorities, limited clarity, and a noticeable disconnect between the office and field operations. It often felt like people were reacting to problems rather than working from a clear plan, which made the day-to-day environment feel unsettled.

Not your typical trades company, a lot of work and effort has been put into place to not only develop and grow the business, but to really grow and develop the people that want to thrive in the business as well. 

The people that really thrive and do well here are the ones that see it as more than just a pay check, and really put their full effort into their career and their future. Being able to put your ego aside and be accountable to yourself and your teammates will get you far. 

You’ll receive consistent feedback, all with the intent of focusing on your personal development. This is the area that historically makes the majority of people uncomfortable, but again this is what develops a team of top tier skill. You must be able to hold yourself accountable and own your mistakes when they happen

Great pay, with multiple ways to earn additional income beyond your base wage or salary. 

Most enjoyable part of working here is when you’re able to surround yourself with like minded individuals and solve a complicated problem with a unique solution. 

EDL has a great work environment. They provide training to help improve your skills and to improve the business, and the quality of business that they offer. Offering peace of mind to the clients is always the most important factor. 

The management team cares a lot about the customer experience, and provides perks and incentives to the staff to keep them motivated in their roles. They empower you to provide the client with high quality solutions. Clients are generally supportive of EDL. 

EDL's management is focused on growing the business, which causes non aligned workers to exit the company, either by choice or not. Management shares a great deal of information on the business, but only positive information, negative trends are minimized. For a fast paced business, EDL surprisingly is slow at making decisions. Timelines for work completion do not always match the workload. 


A typical day at EDL Building Solutions is very pleasant. I am an estimator here and my days are very busy but just the right amount. I have learned so much in the 3 months I've been here and can't wait to see what the future holds. Management here is very involved and supportive in assisting personal growth. I have never in my life experienced such a great culture. Everyone here is truly one team, one family oriented, from management to field staff, we assist each other to become successful and grow, to overcome personal and professional obstacles, to become better people in our daily lives, our communities, and as professionals. The hardest part of my job is learning new software. The most enjoyable part of my job is coming to work at EDL Building Solutions every day and being part of this amazing companies Team.

A great place to grow and develop. Leadership always tries to do what is best for clients, staff, and the company in general. They are open to new ideas or different ways of doing things. If you are able to create results in different areas they allow you to move into those areas and lean into your strengths. The culture is great IF you choose to participate in it. They have programs like the Social Club that organize events and activities that can allow you to connect deeper with your coworkers. They often provide birthday gifts, or appreciation rewards. There are many metric based programs in place specific to each role that can incentivize staff to earn bonuses on top of their base pay. Taking leadership on and highly valued and rewarded. A great place to work if you are a high performer. 

I’ve had a very positive experience working at EDL as a Mechanical Estimator. The company has a strong team culture, clear processes, and leadership that genuinely supports its employees. Expectations are well defined, and you’re trusted to do your job without being micromanaged.

The estimating team works collaboratively, and there’s a real emphasis on accuracy, professionalism, and continuous improvement. Management is approachable and open to new ideas, which makes it a great environment to grow your skills and take ownership of your work.

Environmental Dynamics is a family owned company who treats their employees with respect. While every company has its ups and down EDL is in a place where great changes and initiatives are being made. They take suggestions serious and I always feel my opinion is respected and considered. They have a  major emphasis on employee growth and development. They take the time to really learn what your aspirations are and they put a plan in place to work with you on achieving those goals. They believe in promoting from within where possible.  EDL has been a great place to work and I would highly recommended them. EDL offers flexibility and work life balance

Senior Management is flexible with allowing you to plan your day as long as your actions move the company in the direction towards it's goals.

I learned a lot more about general business than my role describes on paper.

Must enjoyable part of the job is always getting together as a group when attending the social club functions.

EDL has been a great fit for me personally as a tradesman. I work in the Projects Department of the company, and it is clear to me that the company's leadership is actively trying to grow the business. This has been a really great change from the cycle of being hired by a company for one job, just to get laid-off when it's completed. I feel as though my work is valued and my input is received and considered. The entire team works hard to cultivate a positive environment. No organization is perfect, but in my experience, EDL continuously tries to take there staff and clients to the next level.
