This is a fast paced, dynamic workplace with dedicated staff who have a high degree of investment in their product and services. The agency continually strives in growth and improvement. It is relatively small (100 people) but they continually deliver quality work within the short timelines necessary to provide educational results in a timely manner that helps stakeholders plan for their future. Therefore, it is a stressful environment but the satisfaction in delivering is rewarding.

Scoring for OSSLT is stressful having to score around 150 booklets everyday. The scorer supervisor lacks communication and feedback regarding your performance. As a result, you may be “released early” due to your low productivity levels. Daily validity tests done to ensure accuracy and continuous understanding.

I was a contract consultant.  My role and responsibilities required very senior skills (which I have) and EQAO worked side by side with me every step of the way to a successful conclusion to the contract.  I was very impressed with the leadership in the organization, and the caring culture.  I was paid my asked-for hourly rate which was commensurate with my background.

This can be a stressful assignment. It is the marking (scoring) of the Ontario Secondary Schools Literacy Test (OSSLT) English papers. Even if you are qualified to score (usually a BA in any field), there is constant testing to ensure accuracy, and that markers are scoring according to preset standards. (There are daily validation exercises to test each marker).

Fantastic part time work with some amazing people managing our floors. I was a tote opener, sorter and performed batching of the exam papers. Overall great first hand Canadian job experience while working with people from all walks of life.

Dysfunctional, process oriented, crippled by the union because you can only do your exact job description - no more, no less - to keep the union at bay.

getting your papers from the supervisor. analyzing the tests done by the teamholders. culture is friendly. hardest part is having limited access to wi-fi.

A nice place to work. Always have work to do. You feel very important taking responsibilities. Nice people, a friendly environment.
